The Essential Ginsberg

If you haven't read Allen Ginsberg lately, it's time to revisit the bard of Beat. Still relevant to the changing times -- all these years later. Featuring major poems, plus letters and essays...I highly recommend this volume. If this doesn't get your mojo working, nothing will.

Just what I needed to introduce me to Ginsberg. It's a great collection for Ginsberg beginners, and perfect for reading on a cold dreary winter day.

For someone looking for a one book introduction to a major influence on Post WW-2 poetry and culture, this text is essential.

Ginsberg is great

This book may not contain every least little thing a Ginsberg aficionado looks for, but it is most definitely an excellent collection of his various works. A great starting point for anyone interested in the man's writings.

I missed Ginsberg the first time around as I was too young to read his poetry. I felt like I had missed out on one of the much applauded poets of the Beat Generation. In reading this book, I find that much of the writing is rooted in its' time; much of the writing may be better appreciated by men, rather than female readers. If you are curious about this author and the times and circumstances of his life, the book is worth reading.

Truly engaging.
