Good read.
The answers to the crime are not right in your face. It took to the end to see it solved.

Trick or Treat
I have not read any other books in this series. I wasn't sure how it would work to read book 7. I really enjoyed this book. I did not guess the ending and I enjoyed the way the author used the characters to help weave a interesting mystery. I enjoyed getting to know the characters along the way. *This book was given to me for free at my request from NetGalley and I provided this voluntary review.*

Loved this one!
This book was so good! I’m a long time fan of the DS Imogen Grey series. The previous book in the series, however, was not my favorite, so I was a little hesitant going into this one. I shouldn’t have been, though, because Trick or Treat was everything I love about the series. The mystery was intricate with multiple threads to connect and Diamond did it so well. There were definitely surprises I didn’t see coming and when I guessed the others, it was only right before they were revealed. Whenever I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about it, trying to figure everything out.My favorite part of the series, though, are the characters. I love Imogen and Adrian. In the previous book, Adrian went through a very traumatic experience. The story here picks up about a year later and he still hasn’t dealt with it, nor has he told Imogen, which has really put a strain on their relationship. I definitely appreciate the attention Diamond calls to the issue and think Adrian’s actions are probably pretty realistic, but I do have to say I was a little concerned we were going to get a whole second book with him being traumatized and not facing it. Thankfully, he does take the first steps towards healing and I was glad to see it.Another thing I loved was that two previous characters made returns in this installment. Gabriel Webb, from The Angel, is back – as a cop this time. I really enjoyed his addition to the team and am happy to see him doing so well after everything he went through. I’m not going to reveal who the other character is, just because I loved the reveal so much. I will just say that I’m super excited to see them back.Overall, I loved Trick or Treat. The mystery and the characters were great and I was really annoyed any time I had to put the book down for silly things like work or sleep. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series!

suspenseful!
I greatly enjoyed this thriller by Katerina Diamond. this is the first I've read from this author. The emotions of the characters were realistic and kept me engaged in the story. Emotion, intrigue, plot twists - all converge for a thrilling read.

A relentless police procedural
I am completely stunned right now. I have not read any of the other books in this series......yet. By the time I was 5% into this book I knew I absolutely want to start from the beginning. Imogen and Adrian both sucked me in entirely. You don't need to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one, all the major past events that tie into this tale are expertly explained so you are caught up to date. This story is relentless. It is a police procedural type story with gritty action. All the elements of the story are tightly woven together and the conclusion is amazing! The last line of the story, once you think everything is settled, as far as the main story line goes, there is that final sentence. I actually gasped when I read it. At least I have 6 other books in this series that I can go to while waiting for book 8. Anyone who is already a fan of this series will just have to wait.Thank you to Avon UK and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this adrenaline charged e-ARC.

Suspenseful!
Well, I really enjoyed this one.True there are a few moments that defy logic. You can expect to be in a little bit of disbelief when it comes to character behavior - but also, you probably won't care because you're that into finding out exactly what is going on.I love that I was surprised by the reason behind everything, and I liked our sub plot - that was heart rending!I'll happily read the author again.*ARC via Net Galley

Repetitions over repetitions
Certainly not a page turner. In the end just boring. Read it to the end just to confirm how inimaginative it was.

A page turner
When six year old Marcus is snatched right outside his house, his parents swear there has been a mistake that he is fine. Detective Imogen Grey soon discovers all isn't fine, and the race is on to find young Marcus.Although this book is in the Detective Grey series, it can be read alone. This is the first book by Katerina Diamond that I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.I Really liked the characters of Imogen, Adrian, Gabriel and Dean. The author has created strong, believable characters, that the reader can emphasise with.Even the main antagonist, although not likeable, is a well produced personality in the story, one that the reader loathes from the off.Although I've not read any of the previous books in the series, the author gives enough insight to have an understanding of what happened in the precious story, and crosses it over into this one really well.
