Small size with big power
Fits better than my race ranger in my quad. Ranger put out 1.2w this is 800mw but I get better range. It is a few grams lighter also. Tramp works exactly like smart audio so you can adjust things in goggles with controller. I easily get a kilometer with trees and buildings. Haven’t had a open field big enough to loose picture yet.

Very nice tx for price, and can be setup manually
I needed a dependable vtx that could do a good distance, without a large price tag. I decided on this one, and am happy with it. The vtx it replaced had lots of noise from the motors in the video, whereas this one almost eliminated it all. I have ran it out to 1.10 miles above corn fields to test it's range, and it started to get some static, but I was forced to turn around because battery life, not because of reception. I am running a simple setup with a NAZA flight controller on a tbs 500 style frame, so wanted a vtx that could be setup manually and easily, and this did the job just fine. I would definitely go with this one again if I have another fpv model that needs it. The only thing I would mention, is be careful of the input voltage, as many cams can take pretty high voltage, but this cannot, so you may need a regulator.

Pay Attention When Soldering
Accidentally soldered this to the 9v pad on my FC which was directly to the left of the other VTX wires in the same row of pads. I should have connected it to the 5v pad as indicated (my bad, I was in the solder zone). It worked great during the build, and even for a few test flights, but alas, the extra voltage seems to have cooked it. You will be missed, TX800. Gone before you even grew your wings.

Does not remember its power setting
I really wanted to like this VTX because it's small and it fits perfectly with my application - but especially because the layout is great! I really like the fact that the antenna plug is placed exactly in the middle, which allows me to route the antenna nicely in the middle/rear of my micro quad without having to worry about bent antenna extension cables and other nonsense. BUT, to my surprise, after setting the VTX power to 800mW, the VTX goes back to 200mW after every restart. WHY?? That makes no sense. I understand the locked mode, which comes enabled by default, but once I unlock the VTX it should just remember and respect the setting that I want, not what IT thinks I should be using. Very frustrating, so deducting 2 stars because of this.

One of the best vtx out there
Beware of the 5V power. This one can be istalled with or without heatsink. Only complaint the led lights for CH, FR, PWR are hidden once the heatsink is installed. If you need to program it do it before install. Smartaudio connects but wont switch channels. The feed is crystal clear and testing the power transmitted pwas far more that 800mw. Got a constant 1000mw and after 5 min running with fan was 910mw. Amazing little fellow. Cannot go wrong with this one.

Came apart when opened box.. died after hour of use
The housing fell apart. The heat sink tape came of the hot component. Stopped working after an hour. SBee quality. Buy Zeus or Rush.

Works great
Quality and distance of connection is hard to beat for that price. Swapping out my older analog stuff to speedybee was a win.

Disappointing VTX
I really expected more out of this VTX. From day 1 it's been a nuisance. Everytime I fly, I have to connect my quad to betaflight to set the power, otherwise it stays set at what it says is 25mW, although I have other VTX's that will fly further than 50 feet away before dropping signal completely. I'm flying with rapid fire, so the module should be able to get some video when that close. It's been a huge hassle trying to figure out the combination of things that need to be done in order to get it to increase power output. (That's after the obvious need to unlock it first. I did that immediately.) I can't change the power output from the osd either. It beeps like it's doing it, but ultimately ignores the command. It's been so unpleasant I rarely fly the drone now. I've used it with that VTX only a handful of times in the couple months I've had it and the last couple times, although it says it's on 800mW, the picture starts cutting out at like 75 yards, not to mention the image quality seems to have deteriorated.

Good Transmitter
Good transmitter with slick design. I use it on fixed-wing airplanes and has good range capabilities tunable to the transmitter power. Typically use it at 200mW power and still provide good range. At high power it definitely requires the heat shield and placement in a good ventilated location for cooling. Changing settings manually requires some practice but the LED provide feedback on the process. Overall good value.
