Nice quality.

I spend most of my days as an indoor gym climber and when I can, I do outdoor climbing. The Petzl William (Specifically Triact-lock) is the type of caribiner that I always use. Again specifically the locking mechanism. I’ve used it over screw gates and just wont go back. I purchase the William for 2 reasons, #1, The tape (for figures and hands) fits great on the wider section of the William. Its much easier in getting the tape to unroll. #2 and most important is using the Munter Hitch (Knot) in Belay and other climbing scenarios. The large caribiner allows for the knot to rotate easily for lead climbing etc.. Its a fantastic caribiner and I have not complaints. Some say its a bit costly but you get what you pay for.

Looks great, feels strong. Complicated locking with just one hand. Practice it and you might survive.

Great product!!! Just what I wanted and expected!!

I use this carabiner for an outside-the-box application. If you've ever traveled around India on a train, you know that kids jump on and off the trains as they slow down in populated areas. Most of the time, they are selling stuff. Occasionally, they are looking to grab an unguarded backpack and jump back off the train, leaving the victim SOL. Or maybe you're on an auto rickshaw in Southeast Asia and some kids on a motorcycle drive up next to you, grab your bag out of the rickshaw, and disappear into the congestion. Again, SOL. Any carabiner (together with a tech web sling or runner) can anchor your pack, making this type of theft difficult if not impossible. What makes this carabiner a particularly good choice is the TRIACT opening mechanism, which is quick to operate if you know how it works but slow and fiddly if you don't. It adds friction for thieves without inconvenience for the user. About the only thing I don't like about this carabiner is the quality of the finish. Petzl uses a durable satin finish with their other color choices. This black is the opposite: a matte black that is easy to scratch. This doesn't really matter when the carabiner is used for its intended purpose but, for my application, isn't great. One other note: I purchased three of these and all of the TRIACT mechanisms were well-lubricated enough that oil drained out of them for a few days.
