Ip Man Trilogy

The IP Man Trilogy is an outstanding package consisting of 4 Discs. Three of the 4 Disc's are represented by stories associated with time and history. The First Disc is a story about World War Two with The Empire of Japan attempt to conquer China. There are simply terribly effective engagements between the Japanese and the Chinese martial artists. The Second Disc has a true distinction of an example of some of the real differences between Chinese Boxing as opposed to Western Boxing. The Third Disc is about a corrupt waterfront when we learn that the Kingpin to all the troubles plaguing a school is portrayed by Mike Tyson. This has as well very good fight scenes with children and wives and mothers being an integral part of the developing action. The many times these films draw on a moral undercurrent the more poignant the martial art triumph really is. It is very effective in this Disc number three. Disc number Two tries to explain through action what IPMan established with the foundation of a School to teach the Martial Art of Wing Chun. The greater Hong Kong community does not recognize "Master " status of IPMan. until he can prove he is indeed a "Master " of the Martial Art. A big-time fight in which there are a number of Martial Artist "Masters are present occurs with the highlight of this round of fights is about between Master Hung(Sammo Hung) and IPMan(Donnie Yen). Master Hung wishes not to forget though it appears a draw has occurred. They fight again in another scene, however, this is a film with big political ideas and should not be missed. The history places Hong Kong in the hands of the English who show a great deal of animosity toward the Chinese. There are excellent even tremendous fight scenes with the Martial Artist being exemplified by modesty and an unmistakable desire to right a wrong. I think this particular disc may, in fact, be so dramatic that it be mentioned as the best of the three films. The Fourth Disc is interviews with the performers, it is in this Disc that all become mere mortal. I might suggest I was not terribly happy because these historical characters have such a name that it is not simply a Mr. or a Miss. An example is nearing the end of Disc 2 as a young boy is brought into meet IPMan, the young boys' name was Bruce Lee. When Bruce Lee turned 16 years of age he was to become a student of the Wing Chun teachings through masterly teachings of IpMan. Disc two may very well be the strongest of the three Disc's.

I admit, I am only on the second one, as these are kind of hard to watch because they are not really martial arts films per say, they are more Asian films based on a martial artist. Upon further research, they take great control of a 'creative license' in fabricating or exaggerating on things that either did not take place, or events that were not that exciting in real life. So this would be more like that "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" type of film, but more true to the source...I got this because the price was great. The picture quality is not what I would call first-rate, it seemed kind of compressed, colors muted (unless it was done for the period) and there was motion blur, indicating encoding issues. You get used to it, but it is not what I expect out of Blu-Ray. The sound is supposed to be Atmos, but I did not hear much of it, but the sound was better than the picture quality.It is good for what it was, but seeing that they came out with yet another film - will Ip man's story ever end?

Omg finally! Finally found IP man 2 in english and not subtitles! For those that dont know this is like finding a unicorn. I just got them and planning a group marathon of the movies because none of us wanted to watch #2 because it only had English subtitles and if you have to read them it feels like your missing the movie. So I cant believe i found this amazing unicorn all of them DUBBED in english

I bought this primarily so I can hear the English translation. I purchased the Prime version, but it only provided English in the sub titles. The only dislike I have of this collection is minor. In the Amazon Description, it says the product is only one disc. This is a FOUR disc collection. It provides IP man 1, IP man 2 and IP man 3 each on their on disc. The forth disc is a bonus for the move IP man 3. Haven't seen IP man 3 yet, looking forward to it. 5 STARS *****

Fantastic movie or series in my view, just remember it could be 85% and not a cloud in the sky and someone will complain, Donnie Yen at his best I am truly a big fan, But the one thing I think should stated to really complete the story Wing Chun with Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen is yes is the starting point another classic in my book!

CC sometimes is present and sometimes not. It's absence can be extended and a critical points. Some of th eEnglish translations are quite difficult to unravel. Picture quality is okay. But, if you want to understand the story and need CC to help, forget it.

This movie trilogy is being sold on Amazon as new merchandise, but it is more likely damaged merchandise off the back of some truck. The DVD container was so rancid with cigarette smoke, I could smell it two rooms away. I would recommend finding another vendor, such as Barnes & Noble or Walmart, to avoid getting stuck with one of these putrified packages.

A masterclass in martial arts and chinese history. IP man is the greatest film ever made in china. I tracked IP man down and traded some old comics for a hug. I'm happy.My 2 favorite art books are (available on Amazon):- Icon by Frank Frazetta (fantasy art)- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson (100 pictures)

Nun hat es leider auch mich ereilt, wie die vielen Vorredner hier. Ohne augenscheinlichen Makel lässt sich die erste Blu-ray nicht mehr abspielen. Weder in Sony, noch Philipps, noch Samsung BRD-Playern und auch nicht im PC. Die Disc wird nicht mehr erkannt.Sonneneinwirkung oder ähnliches ist auszuschließen, unsachgemäße Behandlung ebenfalls, Kratzer sind keine vorhanden. Das hätte ich nicht erwartet und bin - wie die anderen hier sehr enttäuscht. Scheint ein klarer Mangel vorzuliegen.

Ich habe mir vor ein paar Jahren diese Trilogie gekauft, da hier die damals erschienen drei Teile komplett enthalten sind.Anfänglich liefen alle drei Teile sehr gut in meinem BluRay-Player (Samsung). Nach einiger Zeit wollte ich die Filme nochmals schauen - die zweite BD ließ sich in keinem BD-Player lesen. Nun gut, ich dachte, kann mal vorkommen, vielleicht beim Umzug beschädigt (die Disk weist ab er keinerlei Verletzunge o. ä. auf!). Also kaufte ich mir das gleiche Set nochmals. Alle Filme liefen einwandfrei.Nun möchte ich mir diese Filme nochmals anschauen....die zweite Disk....was soll ich sagen....nicht lesbar. Obwohl inzwischen ein neuer BD-Player (auch Samsung, oberste Preisklasse) angeschafft wurde. Nichts geht. Auch im PC nicht...nirgends.Es ist unfassbar, was einem verkauft wird. Schlechteste Qualität der Disks. Ich rate jedem nur ab, diese Trilogie zu kaufen. Leider ist das Rückgaberecht inzwischen abgelaufen. Ich würde sie dem Verkäufer oder dem Hersteller gerne vor die Stirn knallen, so sauer bin ich!TIP: Kauft die Filme einzeln!

Mi puntuación en este caso es por el tema de los idiomas, que según la descripción viene en español pero luego a la hora de la verdad sólo viene en español el tercer bluray... Respecto a la película en si la verdad que poco puedo decir ya que todavía no he tenido tiempo de verla ni sé si lo haré porque se me han quitado las ganas al ver que lo del idioma. La película por lo que he leido es un nuevo referente en películas de artes marciales recordando a las de los años 80 y que narra la vida del maestro de Bruce Lee, lo cual suena interesante.¿Cómo puede ser que de una trilogia sólo la última parte venga en castellano? (aunque esto creo que ya me pasó con el Hobbit)...Las demás vienen en cantonés y en inglés subtitulado, aunque he leido por ahí que no tiene mucho diálogo y se entiende bien si sabes inglés, ya que los subtítulos también son en inglés, pero aunque tenga poco diálogo mejor enterarse de lo que hablan ¿no?Si veo la película aunque sea en inglés o cantonés y cambió de idea, cambiaré mi opinión al respecto... No le pongo menos estrellas porque la película en si no tiene la culpa de que no la hayan traducido al castellano, pero me sienta mal coger una película que según la descripción está en castellano y luego resulta que sólo una de las 3 partes, encima la última (ya podría ser la primera para conocer como empieza la historia) está en castellano.Si os ha resultado útil mi valoración, os agradezco que me deis vuestro voto. Déçus...pour ne pas dire choqué! Vous annoncez le dvd de la Trilogie de IP Man blu-ray (sous-titre français), ce qui n'est pas le cas! Il n'est pas question de sous-titre français! Donc, j'en conclue que vous faites de la fausse représentation. C'est absolument pas honnête de votre part, car d'autres acheteurs pourraient éventuellement se faire prendre. Il faut que vous retiriez immédiatement sous-titre français!

Hab mir Trilogy vor bisschen mehr als 3 Jahren gekauft und mir sofort am Stück angschaut - super Filme, genau mein Ding.Jetzt dachte ich mir vor 2 Tagen, dass ich mir die wieder mal ansehen könnte. Erst Ip Man Zero - tadellos. Dann wollte ich 1 ansehen, funktioniert in meinem Blu-Ray Player nicht. Etwas verwundert, wandte ich mich an meine PS4 um ihn eben da abzuspiele. Funktioniert auch nicht - Disk nicht erkannt. Etwas depremiert wollte ich mir dann zumindest den zweiten Teil ansehen - selbes Problem. Funktioniert weder im Player noch in der PS4.Die Langlebigkeit dieser BluRays ist scheinbar nicht gegeben.Ergo: So gut die Filme sind, so schlecht ist die Qualität der Discs an sich.Die "Collectors Edition" kauf ich mir sicher nicht mehr, aber die Filme brauch ich wieder.
