Cruella [Blu-ray]

Great movie-interesting twist
Great movie. Love Emma Thompson and Emma Stone. Both showed their talent and versatility as actresses by changing up their usual characters. Truly not a younger crowd movie (hello-rated PG-13) but only for the dark fear factor. Refreshing to see any movie without sex, nudity, language, vulgarity etc. included. (Hollywood seems to think that sells! Of course, they had to push the LGBT etc etc agenda with the insertion of a cross dresser but thankfully it was a pretty forgettable character (super tired of that nonsense!)Oh yeah, LOVED the soundtrack!Loved it and would recommend for adults and kids of appropriate age.

I don't care what the "professional movie critics" say
I bought this movie. I could totally relate to Cruella's character and I love how they portrayed her as a young adult coming into her own. She had a tough upbringing as an orphan and all she knew was how to steal from the rich with her crew, until she got her break as the assistant of a famous fashion designer. I think Emma Stone did a spectacular job portraying the duality of the character, more so the mental health condition with Cruella and how she lived with two completely different personalities since she was a young kid. This was my favorite part of the movie I would say. Let's talk about people living with a mental illness and how they navigate each chapter of their lives to survive. Growing up, when Estella Miller was being picked on at school because of her poliosis, she would turn into Cruella (her opposite) to fight back and stand up to her bullies. As a young adult working her way into the fashion world, Cruella was the side of Estella that kept her for breaking from her experiences and made her bolder and more confident in her decisions, granted maybe sometimes too extreme to the point of becoming a danger to others and herself. I love a fighting woman making her way into the world, even if no one gets her and the entire world is against her. One of my favorite performances by Emma Stone.

NOT For Little Kids
I would have rated this higher if the description included an age rating. I saw the original way back when I was about 8. THIS is nothing at all like 101 Dalmations. Emma Stone was great in her part and Emma Thompson stole the show. Both are "evil" so expect evil things. Crime, murder, and songs from the classic rock years were great, but not for younger ears. IE...somewhere in the movie, they play The Stones "Sympathy with the Devil"....great song to bounce off adults, but not so much for impressionable younger kids. I have grandsons ages 7-5. The 7-year-old maybe....depends on the child....absolutely not for the 5 yo.The story was a little weak in places....and Emma Stone is adorable....but not in this movie. Even being "evil" I wanted her to comb her hair!! lol.... You'll understand. Without giving away too much, she goes undercover, and her supposed "innocent" side still looked a bit creepy. Emma Stone has a strong personality, so that may have been hard to harness.......or the possible message was she was too "evil" to really pull that off. The movie isn't that deep to really think on that level.

Surprisingly Excellent! (Caution to sensitive children)
I was just curious to see this movie--wondering what it could do with the storyline. It was just full of surprises! This movie holds your atttention from the start. I don't want to say anything to take away any of the twisty, brilliant turns to this tale. Let's just say it is not the "cute puppy" movie of the past. Don't get me wrong, there are dogs and they are cute, but this movie is more of psycho-drama with another that could come later. One caution for sure...I don't think I would let any child under 13 watch it, especially if they are sensitive or sensory in anyway. It is a Disney movie, yes, and there is not any blood or guts. However, it is a very "dark" movie which explains the evolution of Cruella Deville. Therefore, I'm not sure this is the "gather the little ones and popcorn for movie night" movie. Parents first, I say, then you decide about the kids.

Best movie in years from Disney
Fantastic movie for all of the family including the teen. Disney did a fantastic job bringing to life Cruella and setting the stage for what most of us 80/90 kids grow up on 101 Dalmatians.

Powerful Film
I confess that my purchase of Cruella (with Bonus Content) was indirectly influenced by multiple factors. My husband and I both agreed to eventually watch this film together and we both agreed on me watching this film ahead of time while he was working tonight before us watching the film together this week. I enjoyed watching Cruella (with Bonus Content) to the point that I am glad that it was made available for viewing to watch an unlimited amount of times because it is definitely one of the entertaining type of films to watch multiple times. The character of Cruella De Vil/Estella Miller ( played by Emma Stone) has been highly interested in fashion since her childhood and meets certain people in her childhood years that have major parts in both the development of Cruella De Vil and being significant parts of her life- Anita Darling who is one of the first females around Cruella’s age to be introduced in the film, Howell Baptiste Horace Badun (Paul Walter Hauser) and Jasper Badun (Joel Fry) who also meet during Cruella’s childhood years. Estella Miller’s life is unexpectedly and significantly altered when Baroness Von Hellman (Emma Thompson) comes into her life by chance. Emily Beacham, Mark Strong, and John McCrea are some of the multiple actors and actresses also featured with significant plot points in Cruella.

There is one good line, if you think that's worth $30
Absolute garbage film. I never would have spent the money, but Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Disney...how bad could it be? REALLY FLIPPIN' BAD! Project Runway meets a sloppy copy of Miranda Priestly and all are so boring, who cares... Seriously I wish I could get the $ back just on principle. Don't do it!

I felt a connection to all the characters and everything just felt right. Also the call back the end was awesome. This movie will hold a special place in my heart. Very smartly done.

Fabuloso 4K UHD
