M. Graham 2-Ounce Tube Acrylic Paint, Cerulean Blue

I've purchased four colors from M. Graham from the acrylic line, every one of them I rate at five stars. I only choose single pigment colors for better mixing control. Additionally I like to work with a limited palette of 12 and this makes for 1/3 of my curated selection.I've provided photos of pure color painted over a thick stroke of black permanent marker; and a swatch mixed with 50% titanium white, all on Strathmore 400 series 246lb Acrylic paper. Please note that depending on how your monitor is calibrated this may not display color completely accurately. Also, it's a bit of a challenge photographing in the correct and consistent light.I do have my favorite pigments within different brands but M. Graham has won me over with these:Quinacridone Rose (PV19): This is my go-to cool red. I love the intense violet red tone. This mixes up some gorgeous rosy pinks; semi-transparent.Yellow Ochre (PY43): I love this deep, vibrant, natural alternative to PY42. Where I can find natural, I'll choose it for earth tones and botanical paintings. This particular one has a slight green hint which is beautiful; this is completely opaque.Terra Rosa (PR101): This earth color has a heartbeat I'm sure. PR101 is also used for burnt sienna but this time it is processed to produce a gorgeous earth red, even prettier than Indian, Venetian or Mars I think! This is my all-time favorite acrylic color; has a cool cast for an earth red; opaqueRaw Umber (PBr7): I love this sombre earthy black. Love the warm tones in this; I use this as a natural black (not so harsh!); opaqueI really appreciate the thick, creamy, buildable texture of M. Graham paints and the reported lightfastness, perfect for creating commissioned and gallery pieces. I like that these are produced in small batches too by an Oregon-owned company (I live in Oregon), and that they are committed to manufacturing safer paints for both the environment and the artist.These are high quality pigments that I will keep coming back for to restock.

The one thing we lack in the Yellow category is an opaque paint, all the yellows are transparent. Here in this picture I painted a line of all my yellows and the top one is this one, Cad Yellow. The worst here is Winsor & Newton which is the most transparent (Liquitex Basics too). Grumbacher makes the best student grade Medium Yellow, they add a touch of white to make it more opaque.Liquitex has a Cadmium free paint now but I don't trust it, they don't list the pigments and some people say it's still not as vibrant or opaque as real cadmium.This is the real deal so don't put your fingers in it or put it in your mouth!

The product is exactly as described. The product arrived ahead of the expected schedule. For many artists this is the higher end of the market for painting on canvas or boards. There is a tendency to 'go with what everyone else is using.. the herd mentality .. if you will.. for commercially available paints. This is a bit of a step outside of the box as the paints behave differently than the competition .. and carry a different appearance when dry. If painting, stick to one brand for the entire piece.. as the difference in color and saturation are significant from brand to brand.. I'd use this brand over the herd's choice anytime.

M graham makes the best all around excellent products for the price. I have their oils, watercolor and now their acrylics. I find their pigment load is amazing. The price is incredible especially since their products are artist grade at student level prices.These acrylics specifically are superb. The pigment quality is excellent. They seem to stay open longer then other acrylic companies I’ve tried. And there is minimal to no smell.I will continue to use m graham and recommend them to everyone I know. They are fantastic and so affordable.

In taking a university painting class I kind of "shot myself in the foot" by not buying the kit that the professor wanted us to get from an expensive art supply store. While I'm an amateur artist, I have found (duh?) that better quality paint makes a significant difference. This color & white were the only 2 colors we were allowed to use on our first 3 projects. It is amazing that something called grey can look essentially black if not mixed with another color, & when mixed with white, it can look grey, or surprisingly, blue!

Very opaque Cadmium Red. The real deal, don't put it in your mouth or on your fingers!Three stars because of the bad color shift, it dries to a Cad Red Dark but goes on as a Cad Red Medium. You might wish to buy the Cad Red Light instead.Edit: Included a painting using this red, lightened with cad yellow. All M. Graham paints.

I am fairly new to M.Graham Acrylic Paint but I love it. It’s opaque, thick and creamy, with great pigment with Lightfastness. Applies and blends easily and wonderful. I will purchase more of this brand and would recommend. Product was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Was a great price and great fast delivery. Will buy more and recommend.

I was already painting with M. Graham gouache, watercolors, and oils. I had a restaurant approach me to do a series of hometown paintings and they wanted them black and white and fairly soon. Not wanting to wait months for varnished oil paintings, I decided to use this opportunity to begin with acrylics. M. Graham it was and the series is going great with their titanium white and mars black acrylic paints!

Great color and consistency.

Nice coverage mixes well with various paint quality.
