It comes with 4 holes cast into the Stingray device. The instructions say to place the Stingray on the cavitation plate as far forward as it will go and and use the Stingray holes to mark where you will drill mounting holes in the cavitation plate. This plate is usually made of aluminum or hard plastic and won’t be very difficult to drill through. You will need a 1/4 inch drill bit for the holes.

what is the distance between the pre drilled holes?

The distance between the front set of holes and the rear set of holes is 4.0” The distance between the left front hole and right front hole is 4.0” The distance between the left rear hole and right rear hole is 3.875”

Will it fit on a 3.3 merc cruiser 4 cylinder ?

Yes it should. Check stingrays application they do make one for the mercury cruiser I am not sure if the one I purchased for the Yamaha will fit the mer cruiser I see you I think it will but please check with mer cruiser before purchasing
