It's a metal bar, works for it's purpose. Black coating scrapes off easily. The screws that came with it were too short to grab deep enough into the wood. I had to buy longer screws and fix the paint scrapes with a black Sharpie. Meh.

Lost my string retainer while working on a Cort X300. This works perfectly and the price is reasonable.

Wow, is this real life??? Screw broke after the 8th full turn. Not happy
