Katamari Damacy

Katamari Damacy was very different to other games of its time the endless racers and shooters broken up by something fresh and original. This book goes through a wealth of sources to tell its story of development and gives an insight into the creators thoughts. Games don’t need guns when you have a sticky ball.

This book is truly a masterpiece, showcasing what influenced the design and spirit of the masterpiece that is Katamari Damacy. I knew I would like it, but I didn't anticipate just how much I liked it! It is a masterful work of nonfiction that gave me a greater appreciation for one of my favorite video game franchises. There are a few tiny gripes here and there, such as Mag's name being misspelled as "Mac" or Katamari Forever being called the third game in the series, but it isn't anything that could ever detract from the book's main selling point. Whether you love Katamari as I do or you're simply interested in the way games are made, this book delivers.
