Weak Tea
This did not taste anything close to HK Style milk tea. I had to use 3 tea bags as they were extra small and did not even get any taste with one tea bag. Very disappointing...

The trick is to use very HOT water
If you had every drank the "authentic" Hong Kong milk tea, especially in Hong Kong, that anything less would just be poor imitations. Unfortunately, even in Hong Kong, not all milk tea were made equal, and none of them were made the same, many with their own secret recipes with some sold more than 10,000 cups a day. You can understand why they guarded their milk tea recipe. But basically, like this one recipe: (*no idea how good it is, just using it as an example)https://thewoksoflife.com/hong-kong-milk-tea/Most are using a blend of tea, like one recipe using three different types of black tea, such as Assam Tea, Ceylon tea, or Earl Grey. Then they will boil all these different teas for a specific amount of tea, then filter the tea with silk stockings (no kidding) for a specific number of times (too few times or too many times will hurt the final taste of the tea). Therefore, if you want to steep this tea correctly, you must use boiling water, with at least three tea bags in about 10 oz. of water, and let them sit for a while. You may even try to boil then together, but be careful if you boil them too long, the tea bags may burst. Then the final trick is what type of creamer to add. In Hong Kong, they used either evaporated milk (the best brand according to some is the Black and White brand with a picture of a cow on the can) or use sweetened condensed milk. We use only non-fat evaporated milk or non-fat half and half. I believe if you add real cream or regular half and half to your tea will make it taste real good. We also substitute sugar with Stevie. The most popular brand of black tea using in Hong Kong is Rickshaw. Unfortunately, the Rickshaw tea bags I bought from Amazon.com were simply not fresh enough. I wonder if you may fare better if you would just buy the whole bag of Rickshaw tea leaves. In short, the quality of black teas and creamer you use will affect the final quality of your milk tea. Hope this helps.

Very good tea
As close to the real deal from HK dai pai dong as you get. The trick is to use evaporated milk and not the sweet condensed milk to make HK style milk tea.
