Great Book-Great Record Label
Very detailed story of the many changes the label went through from the '50's onward. It made me seek out some of their early folk artists like Josh White. Interesting story for music fans. Elektra brought us Judy Collins, Love, The Doors, Tom Rush, Queen and many more and this tells how it all happened.

A very enjoyable read and recommended for any music lover
A very enjoyable read and recommended for any music lover. Detailed to the point of making me want to listen to some of the albums of the lesser known artists.

Just So-So.
Definitely gives nice insight into Jac Holzman's thought processes which, to me, is the best aspect of the book. I expected the folk period to be covered, but it was way too leveraged towards those singers and songwriters. Those expecting more pages devoted to The Doors, Love, The Stooges, The MC5, Carly Simon, etc. will be disappointed.
