Wish the lead was a little longer.
This is the second time I've ordered these. The probe works well, and has pretty reasonable life; ca 1 year in normal use before the fine wires inside fail. It is 1 meter long, (ca 3 ft 3 in), and I find it is just a little too short to reach from the oven to the countertop, where I like to place the thermometer itself. I wish they made it about 1.5 meters, (ca 5ft), long.

Do not buy! Off 30 degrees!
Do NOT buy!. This is not accurate. It was off by 30 degrees. The temperature in my home is set at 73 degrees. When I plugged in this thermometer it read 99.8 degrees. I plugged in the original manufacturer of thermometer and it immediately read 72.6 degrees. Which is proper for the air temperature. I put this thermometer in the refrigerator which is set at 33 degrees. It's reading 82 degrees. I put it outside for 30 minutes where the temperature is 48 degrees and it still reading 93 degrees. If you use for food you will burn or over to cook. Go to thermowork. Com to buy the original and highly accurate for $18.

All 4 probes I got are defective
I ordered 2 probes to use on my Taylor thermometer. Both were defective. When I plugged them in they both registered 140 degrees immediately. After being plugged in for 15 minutes they still registered 140 degrees. I sent them back to Amazon and got 2 more. They are doing the same thing. I am going to return them to Amazon and ask for a refund. I have the probe that came with the thermometer and it still works. When I plug it in it registers the temperature of the room which is 70 degrees. When I insert the probe in a piece of meat I am going to cook the thermometer registers the temp of the meat. Like 50 to 65 degrees. So that tells me that the problem is the probes not the thermometer. I have been using Taylor thermometers for years and this is the first time I have received defective probe. Inaccurate; reads ~40F high
Bought this to replace the probe that came with our Taylor unit, but it's completely inaccurate. Probably should have noticed when I first plugged it up after opening and it read room temperature as over 100F, but I figured it may be designed for accuracy at higher temperatures.Just finally used it during cooking for the first time (a month after the return window, unfortunately) and it appeared to be way off, which was verified by putting it in a cup of boiled water, where it measured 232F (as water boils around 212F here on earth, this is clearly defective). Guess I just need to buy a whole new unit from a different brand rather than try to replace the probe!

Great while it lasted.
This probe has afforded me the wonderful opportunity to cook my meats to perfection - so long as it functions properly.I have every confidence this is the same OEM probe that came with my thermometer. That probe lasted 3 years using it a few times a week. I ordered this probe with high expectations for longevity, and that hasn’t panned out.I received this probe roughly three weeks ago, and it has completely failed. No temperature is registered, and there’s no visible damage to the cable or instrument. Poor quality.
