Very nice book!Aubrey Powell really captured the heart and soul of his rock 'n roll subjects. He is a master of his craft, and his collection of images is a beautiful tribute to such a successful and inspiring career. Pictorial book of out takes and anecdotes from the greatest rock n' roll album cover design studio. A must for officiados.

This book is tremendous. A must-have for fans of classic album cover design. It's fascinating to see how these images were created in the pre-Photoshop days.

Boring. The only book by Po Powell versus multiple books by Storm Thorgerson. The photos are pedestrian and uninspiring. Only for the Hipgnosis completist.

Nice read. Great to get insight to some truly iconic images used throughout rock and roll history.

Was assuming this book was going to be mainly record covers, it is not but it is still quite a joy to read through and look at many iconic images of many excellent bands. Great quality book.

A fascinating look into the most influential design house of their time, worth buying for the Peter Gabriel manipulated polaroids alone !

Habe das Buch gekauft, weil ich zum ersten Mal weiteres Archivmaterial zu der Fotosession für das Ummagumma-Cover hier gesichtet habe.Für Kunst- und Fotobegeisterte oder als Studienmaterial für Genre- und Techniken der Gestaltung geeignet.Eine echte Inspirationsquelle mit vielen wichtigen Hintergrundinformationen von Aubrey Powell.Das Buch ist wirklich ein tolles Nachschlagewerk und wer es hat, möchte es bestimmt auch nicht so schnell wieder her geben.Nostalgische Erinnerungen an längst vergangene Zeiten werden wach.Derzeit wäre ich begeistert, wenn es etwas ähnliches auch von Roger Dean gebe, was an Materialfülle vergleichbar wäre.Ich denke da an die Neugestaltung der Bilder auf den Covern der Alben von YES als Vinyl.Allerdings hatte Dean, soweit ich weiß, nicht so viel mit Fotografie zu tun.Vielleicht gibt es da eines Tages auch mal was.Unbedingt ansehen und staunen. Auch die finanziellen Mittel, die man oft in die Gestaltung einer Schallplattenhülle investiert hat, sollte man dabei im Hinterkopf behalten.Sehr schönes Buch eines großartigen Gestalters.Ich liebe HIPGNOSIS halt einfach.Natürlich auch die Bilder von Storm Thorgerson, der leider schon verstorben ist.Habe mal gehört, dass der nicht so an eine Weltkarriere von PINK FLOYD geglaubt hat, als er für die Band in den sechziger Jahren tätig wurde.Aber na ja egal, es kam anders.Ein weiterer Grund, warum wir diese Bilder und Grafiken heute fast alle kennen.
