Delighted to have almost 4Tb of storage available in a small and portable package. Happy with it. Seems to transfer data fast enough. Can't speak to durability as only used it a handful of times and not had it long. Pretty much worth what I paid for it.

Although the package had obviously been opened before, the HD was in pristine condition although obviously reformatted such that the registration file was not available so as yet I have been unable to register the purchase with Seagate. What was really annoying though was the missing USB cable. Listed as part of the box contents, but not included, so it was necessary to purchase a suitable cable as it wasn't worth returning it for this alone. Perhaps the Amazon warehouse staff need to be a bit more observant when checking returned items?

This is small and compact. It is so easy to use. Huge memory and easy to transfer files n use as a back up drive. Easy to travel around with. You can take your files anywhere.I highly recommend

This Seagate HDD works okay and for 5TB storage is decent value. However it is disappointing that the password protect security feature (Seagate Secure) available on other Seagate portable drives IS NOT activated on this model.As this is a portable drive I would expect a basic data encryption function to be standard so as to protect the drive contents if you were to lose the HDD while in transit. I can't think therefore why Seagate would not make it available for this device but they haven't hence me scoring it at only three stars.

I have a number of high capacity (14-16 tb) discs mostly to hold video collection.However, this caught my eye as you can set it up to do encrypted backup of whatever you want.I have a lot of cloud based material that I need offline backup. This does the job as well as supplying security on this easily accessible disc. This allows you to leave it in plain sight as possession of the disc won’t get at the content.Setup was a little bit difficult but online help is okay. You can tell it to backup continually, hourly, daily or snapshot. Annoyingly there is not an ‘on demand’ one. I don’t like the continuous as of course it will immediate backup that file you’ve just messed up, this losing the safety copy.Copy speeds are pretty fast for big files. I’ve not tried the usbC link to see if that’s faster as I had a little problem getting connected l, but full speed with the usbA, if memory serves me around 150-200 Mb/sec.Like it’s breathren, these big discs are not portable and are quite delicate, needing separate power supply. You must be careful to let them stop spinning before moving.

Excellent little hard drive, great value and works as it should. Literally plug in and play even on Mac. Great as some cheaper alternatives are not formatted for Mac. Sturdy enough to be thrown in my bag while travelling and withstanding airport security chucking bags around.

Easy to use straight out of the box. Plenty of storage space. Looks good. For the price it’s a bargain.

As the standard amount of memory comes as standard with new laptops this is the perfect solution.Why pay for Cloud storage with the risk of being hacked when you can have your own portable storage that is totally secure.Easy to set up as plug and play. This can be used not only as an external drive but also for daily backups so even the stuff you have stored internally is safe.The only negative I can give for this is that the lead could be a bit longer
