Tesla Motors Cable Organizer

I ordered this original Tesla organizer here because like most people I needed it quickly as my Electrician was coming in 3 days, and I wanted him to install and use it as a guide where to put the outlet etc.I ordered this Tesla original model because the copies you see on Amazon mount the charging nozzle such that its sticking out somewhat horizontal. With this one the nozzle is nearly vertical so it doesn't stick out from the side wall, looks nice and professional. If you want the more vertical mount and lower profile, this is definitely the one to get. I didn't mind paying an extra $25 here for it since it came 2 days by prime shipping in time for my electrician to install it along with the 240V receptacle.The cable organizer is solid on the wall, doesn't move or wiggle or anything. Since my electrician did it for free when he installed the outlet, he probably did a better job with his tools making the bracket tight, drilling the right size holes, etcSome reviews said the nozzle hole is too small. At first I thought that was the case too, but then realized the nozzle is not suppose to go all the way into into the organizer. The nozzle simply goes in the fatter outside hole you see, then you let it fall vertical and there is a hook on the organize that catches the nozzle so it doesn't fall in. You don't push it deep in the inner hole .. Just loosely put it in, and rest it down. Its brilliant and easy.So if you want the cheaper copies , and don't mind, or if you even prefer the nozzle to stick out more horizontal, then I'd get that one. But if you want a cleanly finished and more vertical positioning, get this one.If you found this review helpful, please "vote" .. thanks

Install was easy but the little plastic piece that sticks up to hold the handle in place is not long enough.Just barely touch the handle and the cable and handle falls to the ground. Even the slightest breeze that moves the cable will cause the handle to fall to the ground causing damage to the handle top.I do not recommend getting this version. I ordered another version today that makes the handle stick out farther and I hope equipped to hold the handle much better.Perhaps if they added some material around the inside of the hole that receives the handle it might grip better but it simply doesn’t work as designed.If you don’t touch the handle or any part of the cable or if the wind is not blowing then the handle stays in place but Just the slightest movement causes the cable to fall.It’s too bad because it looks nice. I guess I’ll see how the other product works When I install it tomorrow.UPDATE: The other cable organizer I got yesterday works great. The charging handle does stick out almost 90 degrees from the wall, but it holds the handle very well. There is a log on it that says Topfit. So if you must have a near vertical install, buy this organizer knowing the handle could come out, or search for another that holds the handle more securely. Hope this helps in your decision. Both products seem to be of a high quality construction.

I really wanted to buy a non-OEM knockoff due to pricing ($25) & quick delivery.But because the knockoffs all juts the charging handle out horizontally, I had to pay up to get the OEM version from a 3rd party vendor - which stores the handle more verically.Yes they marked it up 100%, but due to my lack of space where I charge my M.3, I needed a more vertical charge handle position.Plus, the one sold from Tesla itself is always out of stock - as it currently is.So - in conclusion - If you don't care or don't need it vertical, then get the many highly rated non-OEM ones out there & you will be very happy.Otherwise you have to pay 2x the cost of the OEM from a 3rd party vendor.That is the free market working.

I should have read the other reviews more carefully! :) Nice design, works as stated, but it is only $25 on the Tesla web site. However, to be fair, I used Amazon Prime 2-day free shipping, and Tesla charges $15 (2 business day ground) to $21 (2 day air) for equivalent shipping to my address. So the $45 I paid here is about what I would have paid to Tesla to get it in time for my hubby's birthday. He is a tidiness addict, and as the cable has been snaking across the floor for the last year, it was worth the price to make him happy with a matching tidy hook and charging plug holder. Looks cool on the wall too!

Rip off. I'm returning it. It is fraction of the price from Tesla itself. Very disappointing
