No, for the typical art cover, it does not need to be trimmed to fit the protective sleeve.

We do not manufacture a double protective sleeve for Blu-Ray with binder holes. However, not sure of the dimensions of your Blu-Ray but our double protective sleeves for DVDs (Tarifold #10280) measure 5-7/8" x 7-3/8" which is similar in overall size to our Blu-Ray sleeves.
