Q: Can these dishes be used in a toaster oven?

I am not sure but I have used them in the oven . I have made chicken pot pie and shepherds pie in them. I hope this helps you .

These dishes are highly suspect when they arrive. No documentation, no manufacturer box, no markings. After seeing them, I assumed they’re not only not made in the US, but full of lead. I returned.

Q: can these be used under a salamander - high heat?

I cannot say with certainty, but I have broiled fish portions in them and been well-pleased. I believe they are oven-safe, but your heat level may be so extreme that metal is better.

Q: The bottom of these dishes are not glazed. Are they truly food safe?

Sure! The part where food is cooked is glazed. Only the bottom, underside, is not glazed and that has to do with the firing in manufacturer.
