'Techno Pop' is the ninth studio album by the Kraftwerk, originally released in 1986 under the title 'Electric Cafe'. Review: The Pioneers of EDM Set Off 1986 No Other Way✊🏾 - My mother was only 16 years old when this banger dropped, and I was honored enough to hear singles like "Musigue Non Stop" and "Telephone Call" to be an instant fan of these 1970 EDM pioneers🙋🏾♂️ Review: ...and then there were 2. - Several reviews of this version of Electric Cafe complain about an overly compressed mix and the substitution of the album version of The Telephone Call for the single version. No problems here. I like the hard smack of the compressed percussion in this case, and the single version of The Telephone Call is yet another reason to own both versions, as is the inclusion of the Telephone Call remix. Surprisingly, this tampering does not hinder the integrity of the original version. Besides, this is Techno Pop, not Electric Cafe (Yeah, I know, I know...original title, etc). Electric Cafe/Techno Pop is often cited as one of the low points of Kraftwerk's career, so why do I keep putting it on just as much as the others? While it's true that The Telephone Call and Sex Object aren't Kraftwerk's strongest songs, they are buoyed up by the surrounding tracks, and "side one" is especially strong in it's spaciousness.

For Quality music Amazon.com is the best.
Kraftwerk are the pioneering innovators of electronic music. This album was released after a 5 year absence. I believe it to show their strong talent in the field they created. A 5 star album.

Boing, boom-tschak, ping!
Some folks don't like the remastered and re-titled re-release but you really can't go home again. It's a quarter-century later and this work holds up beautifully. Sample the first track and see if you don't find yourself spontaneously singing "Boing, boom-tschak, ping!"

Still a great album to buy
Short version of telephone call compared to the original vinyl release. Still a great album to buy!

Kraftwerk for the 21st century
It is somewhat different from the original edition, but these guys are just getting better. Buy this, you have never heard Karftwerk sound like this before.

i remember buying the vinyl in 86.it was slated by the press and fans alike.i thought it was the most impressive thing i had heard.from the opening boing boom tschak,to the brilliant electric cafe it has it all.sound is impressive like all the kraftwerk re-releases,sounds ive never heard from the album or previous cd releases are apparent here.however the change of name and inclusion of a benign track(house phone)are sadly a bit of meglomania on hutters part.well worth buying though.still sounds great in todays music enviroment and will never date,or maybe sex object will, lol.as i couldnt stop laughing how dated it did sound.all in all a great album, short and to the point.long live the robots!
