This works well when you get it set up and ...
This works well when you get it set up and get approved to use it by PayPal, it's not actually plug and play at first. When you receive more than 500 a week you won't get your money for a month, which is part of the terms. If you don't already use PayPal and don't have a bank account linked, this is just not going to be worth it to you.

great and easy to use. better then other brand I had before. payments went in fast. I was only vendor taking cards and it was great.

PayPal will GIVES you one if you have point of sale version
I like that I can just plug it in and go . It reads a card, haven’t had any problems. I don’t use it much, as PayPal will send you one of these or a better Bluetooth chip reader version for FREE. Team free card reader

Great product
Easy yo use. Not suitable for the new smartphones, because there is no longer a 3.5mm slot. very clear and reliable credit clearing service but the fees are high compared to the competition

It's great to have as a backup on the go. Just in case you are making a transaction.
I like the fact that you can use it for a backup if you need to have one.

International Users BEWARE
The hardware (car reader) may work for you but I have a very specific scenario that made it unfit for use: I have been a PayPal user since the early days, so I am definitively not a new user. I wanted to take advantage of the good service I have with PayPal, but making it work easily with my customers. Twice a year I visit the US on business trips and I would take checks or cash, but more and more we have the familiarity of using "plastic" (debit/credit cards). I needed this since my local solution (iZettle) does not work in the United States. So, purchased the product and it would not work. The app refused to work on several phones (Windows & Android) nor on 2 laptops...called PayPal's help line and after more than 30 minutes they simply told me it would never work on a PayPal account that is NOT US BASED. And that is NOT TOLD on the product's description or usage. Otherwise I believe it will work as advertised...so BEWARE if you are in this situation.

Lost my original, nice to have less $ option to replace
OEM PayPal reader. Works fine and much cheaper than the replacement from PayPal. (1st reader is free from PayPal so do not purchase if you have yet to get one)

Works fine but Not worth it
The device was fine, but PayPal is stupid and you can't use the device unless you have a PayPal business account and then once you apply for one and take your time entering in all the info it rejects you and says your not approved for an account at this time. Nothing else, no more info but that. It doesn't work with an existing PayPal account! Personally it was worth it. I paid extra to have it delivered the next day. Then after receiving it and fighting with PayPal over an account I drove 5 mins to target and bought a square reader and it's been great!! Honestly get a square reader and save yourself the time and pain of dealing with PayPal.
