Faded quickly; dim in 2 hours.
When I received these I cracked one and left it out to test. In less than an hour it was noticeably dim. I cracked a couple of more, and again about an hour later they were both dim. I don’t know if all the other reviews are fake or if I just got a bad/old batch. I can not find any date info on the bag or the glow sticks. The included picture are as follows, left to right: 2.5 hours, the next two 1.5 hours, the final two only about half an hour. Notice how the red one that is half an hour old is incredibly dim.As other have complained about, I also mostly got red/orange, which turn out to look the same (the 3rd & 4th ones are one red, one orange, but they look the same once activated).

Very bright and some very nice colors but....
Way too many orange and red glow sticks included in the pack. It's clear they didn't do anything in the way of sorting and balancing which colors you received. We like green, blue, purple and pink, but only received maybe 6 total of those colors and about 25 Red/Orange/Yellow. They also didn't last very long. We took these to Tomorrowland in Belgium and I'd say each stick stayed bright for maybe 30mins, maybe 45 mins. Not very long though.

Mixed feelings--Not all the colors as bright and some did not last more than 3 hours.
I have mixed feelings about these glow sticks. I was happy with some but not others. I usually buy glow sticks this size from Walmart or Target and are happy with how long they last, but I need them in bulk for my kids school glow dance. I saw a few reviews that said these seemed to be brighter than the kind you can find at the stores so, since i needed bulk and bright i decided to get them. Price wise they are comparable to what i would pay to get 30 from Walmart. In my bag, we probably used about 15-17 sticks our of 30. The green color was great! It was brighter than the rest. You can sort of see that in the photo. This photo was also taken 8 hours after they were activated. There was also a blue, yellow and orange color. They were not nearly as bright. Some of these glow sticks were no longer glowing by the end of the dance, just 2.5 hours after we activated them and they were the blue and red that stopped first, 1 out of the 15 did not glow at all after we activated and the ones that did glow were all out within 8-9 hours of activating. So they served there purpose for the most part at that dance. The green seemed to last the longest. I am just a little disappointed that the time they glowed and the brightness varied so much between sticks.

Have not had issues other customers have.
I ordered two packs. Both packs came with 5 of each color.Additionally, I cracked one of each (to figure out what color was what) and it's been at least five hours and all of them are still glowing. They did lose their initial brightness intensity in the first hour, but the dimming has slowed considerably. The pink *definitely* looks like it will have the shortest life and has dimmed noticeably more than the others. This may be a consequence of the different fluorophore in them, and it may be that pink just is the weakest chemical. In terms of actual brightness and being able to see things, I would say that at this point - five hours in - green is the most illuminating followed by blue. Yellow is a close third. Orange and pink are about tied, and red is the worst. Though this is more a consequence of how the human eye works. Finally, if you're wondering what the colors are:Clear fluid = blue.Green fluid = green.Orange fluid = yellow. For the other colors, it's harder to tell because they all appear to have a pinkish liquid in them. Shake the stick up and put it on its flat end.If the stick has an orange fluid floating above the thick pink fluid, this is the orange stick. If the floating fluid is pink-on-pink, this is your red stick. If you don't see another fluid floating over the thick pink liquid, that's the pink color. All in all, excellent deal on these sticks and I'm pleased with them.Oh, they also come with a bunch of lanyards.UPDATE:It's been about 10-11 hours since I cracked them. The pictures I have attached are at that point. I tried to adjust my camera settings to reflect what they look like in a dark room.Basically at this point, the pink one has become purple is not much dimmer than the orange, red, and yellow one.For illumination and seeing things:The green is still definitely the best light. For illumination, I can still see around a room with it. Blue and yellow aren't far behind it. Orange is pretty hard to see. Purple is worse still. Red is basically useless for illumination at this point. It still has a pretty good glow in the darkness though so it's not like you wouldn't be able to easily see the stick.NOTE: This is largely because of how the human eye works so don't blame the glowsticks. Red only activates the red cones in your eyes so essentially, you're only seeing with a third of your vision. Green, being in the middle of the visible light spectrum, bleeds into the other spectrums a little so it activates more of your cones so you can see better. This is probably why blue and yellow are about equal since they're on either side of green. Red and pink/purple are on the opposite edges.

SO bright but they burst..
I really love these! We bought them once before and used them up. So I bought more. I noticed a very sweet smelling smell once I opened the bag. Didn’t think anymore about it. Then went to give my kid a glow stick bath which he loves! And I dropped one of them in the bath and noticed a glowing residue. The glow stick hard somehow broken and went all over the bath my hands and the floor. I don’t think I’d buy them again. Which is a shame. They are SO bright and awesome.
