Repaired chrome plating on boombox speakers
I recently bought a classic/vintage Conion Epsilon Explode 5000 portable stereo (boombox) and the chrome plating on the grille covers over the two speakers' tweeters was scratched off a little. It was not completely scratched off but spots of it were missing and a little bit of the ugly black plastic underneath was showing. I was looking for a simple solution that did not require complete repainting all of the grille covers because the chrome plating was still in pretty good condition overall. It just needed a little bit of touch up work in a few spots. I decided to try out this three piece chrome paint marker set on the exposed black plastic to attempt to cover it up. I realized that it would be impossible to perfectly match the original chrome plating but if the markers did the job without looking too bad, then I would be happy with my purchase.I included four photos of the results and I am happy with how the speakers turned out. If you look closely, you can see the blotches of silver paint from the markers. It is easy to see where the markers were used because the silver paint is not as shiny as the original chrome plating. It's not really too noticeable unless my boombox is in bright light and I'm staring right at the speakers. For two of the photos, I had a bright LED desk light directly over the speaker grilles to try to show the reflectivity of the paint from the markers.I let the chrome paint fully dry overnight before lightly touching it. I do not know how durable it is so I don't know if I can recommend using these markers on high touch surfaces like on boombox knobs on dials and sliders. I do not imagine touching my speaker grilles very much so durability was not a very high priority for me.In my opinion the speaker grilles look much better now compared to before with the black plastic showing. The repair that I did was not perfect but I am happy with the results that I got from these chrome paint markers and I am happy with my purchase.

It help to hide the spot missing on mirror.
It hid the spot that was missing so it wasn’t so noticeable. Not like the mirror backing silver film but it help.

Just as good for less money
I received 3 sizes for lessthan the 1 size of the better known product. Not sure if they work as well but they are pretty good. I'd buy again

These do what they say they’re going to do.
I’ve only trial run these paint pens. They are opaque to underlying paint. It’s best to get as much of the paint on before drying starts. I’m using it for small highlights. I don’t think you can make a hand held faux mirror without streaking😂

The chrome coming out of the pens is like a mirror, better then the spray paint I usually use!
I used this to touch up some chrome emblems I make to fix imperfections. the chrome isn't a perfect match but it actually looks more like real chrome than the chrome spray paint I use. They still work great for my purposes. Sometimes other pain pens don't mix the paint and adhesive well but this one seems to have the balance correctly.
