I won't say the lower rated reviews were erroneous, but my experience of this product was the exact opposite. Keep in mind that this is an item crafted by hand. As is to be expected, there will be variations, and quality control isn't always 100% perfect, nor is shipping or stocking. That said...This item was a delightful surprise, from outer package to ring tone. The box is strongly constructed and nicely printed. Inside, the bowl is in a plastic bag, and included are a donut pillow, two mallets (one unfinished wood, one dark stained with leather wrapped end), a burlap carrying bag, an instruction booklet and the well made chakra bracelet which may or may not be made with semi-precious stones but the beads are at least lovely transparent glass. The bowl is small so the resonance isn't very long lasting, but the tone is clear and deep, I'm guessing a C, very peaceful. I chose the polished bowl, and the etched or dimpled surface bowls may offer different tonal qualities. And this was the first bowl ever I was able to "sing" using the plain mallet! (I wrapped the bracelet around the dark mallet as a decoration!)At this price I suggest you order two or more, choose the one that resonates best with you, and return or gift the others. It would make the perfect present!

I bought this for someone else, but took it out of the box to check it out. I moved the wooden mallet around the edge of the bowl and made some nice sound, and I was satisfied with that. Then my boyfriend, who is some kind of musical virtuoso or something, took it and actually made it sing! I can't describe what I did that I THOUGHT was right, but it was nothing compare to the sound he was able to elicit from it. It does make a beautiful resonance, I can understand the desire to meditate with one. I still can't get it to make the incredible, ethereal tone that my sweetheart does, I guess I don't have the right technique. Still, it's so lovely and I'm glad that I bought it (and wound up keeping it). I definitely recommend it to others and advise patience if you think it doesn't sound right, because chances are it's just you not doing it right. But that's okay, you'll figure it out, don't give up!

For the price you get the bowl, the cushion, two wooden handles, a nice carry bag and a special gift! It was packaged well and works amazingly. I use it every night to charge my crystals and meditate. Would definitely recommend!

I like the size for the price. These.are pricey usually; however, this is a cute inexpensive way to start the collection.Its a bit hard to get it going though.

I have many singing bowls and love to give them as gifts. This one has a great sound. Is easy for a beginner to use. Great price for the quality. I would suggest it as a gift for someone.

Edit: I am not sure why the harsh review. I let it "charge" outside and gave it a few goes and was not too happy with it at first. After working with it for a few days I am actually very pleased. With practice it will perform as it should. It can carry the note and it definitely does vibrate. Very pleased with this bowl. Also very sorry I was so apprehensive. Now we know why I got the bowl though, so I can chill out. :)Not a singing bowl as it doesn't carry a note and does not vibrate. It is crafted well as a piece of decor but it is not useful as it was meant to be. I will keep looking.

Takes a moment to learn but once you do she’s loud and has a nice sound.

The ball makes a pretty sound. The quality is OK.
