SMC SMCWPCI-G EZ Connect g 2.4GHz 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Card

I purchased this item because of it's competitive price and positive reviews. Installation was very simple and the card was up and running within 15 minutes of opening the box.After an hour of use, the card stopped working. After a restart the card worked again, but it will consisitently stop functioning whenever I am downloading files over 10MB, or leaving my computer on for more than 30 minutes.I've tried reinstalling the latest drivers and software with no success. I have a brand new Dell precision tower.I will be replacing this card as soon as possible.

So far it works perfectly it was just a bit hard to inall with my particular motherboard other than that no problems.

Faster than an n300 usb stick on an ancient computer. Gets 20Mbps on a 24Mbps connection through several walls

It took me sometime to get it running, but in the end it connected me to the internet and that is what matters most. A great price and a great addition to my wireless network as well. My computer is atleast 10yrs. old and if it worked on mine than I'm sure that it will work on yours if you just follow the directions step-by-step.

This was a very quick install that worked from the first minute it was completed. Whole effort less than 10 minutes.

I purchased this wireless card for my childrens computer. I have never used or installed one before. Less then 5 minutes after I started, I had wireless internet. It is simple, and the connection is great. Very fast. Have not had any problems. I recommend this card to anyone who needs a simple, easy install.

As the title states, this card is not an Atheros card, it's a Realteak 8185. If you run PC-BSD or FreeBSD, take a pass.Deducting four stars for false info about the chip set. Giving one star because it fits in the PCI slot.
