Great product for the price.
Very good for the value, it works fine, just had a few issues with the first one I received, it might have been defective. I recieved another one right way it was sent express and on a Saturday. They were really quick to respond. They have a video online if you need help installing and learning how to set it up. Install is pretty straight forward and easy, if you know a little bit about plumbing (shut the gas off first) (shut the water off too), check for gas leaks before operating.Very important thing about this unit is the exhaust - must be double wall steal type b, probably need to order it from a home depot store. If it's not you will have issues. Too much heat will escape the unit if you don't run the right exhaust. Turn the fuel position all the way down to it's lowest setting so you don't burn yourself. Keep in mind it takes a few seconds (depending on the size of your home) for the hot water to push the cold water that's in the pipes out of the way.No issue mixing hot and cold water. There is a water pressure adjustment on the unit, temp and fuel level also a summer winter setting. I have it on summer and the fuel turned down and it operates around 120 degrees. I can run the shower and the sink and there is still plenty of hot water. If you have 2 bath home this unit is too small for you at 2.7 gps. You would probably need a 4.0gps or better.Fittings are 1/2 inch I changed them all to 3/8 because it's easier to use existing fittings. Hoses - make sure you get hoses that can handle high pressure. Washing machine lines will not work. It comes with fittings to make your own hoses. Look for black high pressure line hose in home depot. $10 for 15ft, looks like a thin radiator hose, it's ugly but it works.Don't mound it directly on the wall, I would recommend putting some wood board behind it to protect your sheet rock also to help the unit breathe. It should not be flush onto the wall.If you're unsure hire a professional to install. This unit is for a one bathroom home.I deducted one star because I had to return the first unit.

Will not buy Marey again.
This unit lasted less than 5 years. The 5-year warranty might was well be nonexistent. You have to mail the unit back at your cost and return cost, all the while you have no hot water. While taking a shower, your water will turn cold with no changes in water pressure whatsoever. They will try and blame it on the water pressure. The summer setting quit working a few months ago. Their tech service is worthless. I emailed them several times and after a few exchanges, nothing was solved.

For more experienced homeowners this is great for DIY. For contractors and properties managers, ignore the bad reviews
I read so many reviews before buying this water heater. I own an old apartment building and each unit has it's own water heater. I was looking at $1000 to $1500 units and then realized all of them required 3/4" gas lines. NO GO. The great thing about this unit is that it uses a 1/2" gas line. I was not about to bust a bunch of walls open. I do my own installation and I know that black gas pipe is a hassle. When I looked at the Marey, I realized it had limitations. The expensive units are very sensitive so even a trickle of water makes them light. But most tenants want showers. Few "trickle" water. I also didn't want to install 110v power at every location. That would be expensive! This unit was amazing. It uses D cells to ignite the gas. This was confusing at first but once I installed it, the unit operated exactly as expected. For a rental this is perfect. Tenants were told to open the faucet at a sink "full" so they would get the unit lighting correctly. For showers, it always lights instantly because the GPM is large enough at the shower head to make it work well. If you are a manager of an apartment, this unit is for you. Take out the old water heater. Paint the enclosure nicely so it does not look like crap. I setup a 2x4 backer with a cement board fire barrier. Not required, but I wanted some air gap. Then I used common galvanized vent and standard appliance hoses to install it. Appliance hoses were what the factory recommends and they worked perfectly. Use braided stainless hoses for the best look. After installing these I would never go back. Even for a small house with one or two bathrooms this is a great unit. Despite the reviews, the water is very hot. You have to learn the settings. I set it for Winter all year round because that gives a very hot water experience. I also set the water flow down to force ignition at a lower GPM. Overall, I could not be happier. For under $300 I installed a tankless by myself. The unit hangs with a mere few screws and it less than 30lbs. Very, very light. The batteries have been working for at least six months so don't fear, they work well. And I used Duracell. Remember the batteries only ignite the gas. They don't heat the water. Another thing that may confuse you. I highly recommend this for anyone.Important tip: For buildings with high water pressure, and if you do not have access to adjust the pressure regulator, then install one as pictured in-line just before the cold water supply.
