The undisputed champion of my barbecue kitchen!
During the summer I purchased a pellet grill and immediately started experimenting with new cooking methods and preparation techniques. My wife was getting increasingly irked at my use of her expensive set of knives and frankly I wanted to pick up something that I didn’t have to worry about damaging or ruining in some way while learning.I had a one knife budget and wanted something that could do everything, after some research I realized a chef knife would fit the bill. I looked at several before deciding on this one, basically the cost of this knife plus a sharpener with good reviews was still about half of the next closest competitor. This knife also came in red which I liked as it was easily differentiated from my wives set. This this is the right size and shape and was delivered sharp. This knife seems to be a good weight and the grip is easy to hold even when wet. After sharpening this thing really shines though. It holds an edge exceptionally well and can sharpen to a scary edge. Using a quality sharp knife I have found it easy to trim my briskets and slice my vegetables. The shape of the blade lends its self well to both tasks.I ended up picking up a cake knife to accompany the chef in my arsenal as well as some quality sheathes for both to keep them safe in storage.Overall both knives are well made and a great value for the money. All told the two knives, the sheathes and the cheap sharpener still came in under the total cost of my wife’s chef. I think mine out preforms hers and I actually catch her going to mine if I’m not looking. For the price, go for it. These things are great quality at a fraction of the cost.

Yup
I just wrote a review on the Mercer pairing knife which I absolutely love. This 10" Chef is no different. I will keep this short. It is a excellent knife. When you consider the price of this knife compared to quality it's a must buy. The knife performs like a much more expensive knife and the quality is excellent. If you are on the fence, just buy it. I promise you, you will not be dissapointed.

Ultra Sharp
Had to learn a different technique because the blade is ultra sharp.Amazing product for the price. I would say that this is as good as any of the 100.00 or even 200.00 knives you see advertized.

Sheesh! It's fricken sharp!
I just received Color:Red | Size:10-Inch Chef's Knife this afternoon and used it for dinner. This required dicing an onion and thinly slicing some flank steak for Beef Stroganoff. I chopped the onion faster than I realized...and the flank steak? No sawing. I just put the blade on the meat and pushed down...that's all it needed.I have never used a knife this sharp before. It kinda scares me a little! I have a slew of 8 inch knives including a hyper-sharp ceramic. This is the first 10 inch and it is going to be my primary knife.I told the wife that she's not to touch this knife because it would take off a finger before you know it.I came back to this page to purchase the sheath. I recommend everybody looking to purchase this knife to spend the extra $2+ and get the sheath. Otherwise, this knife will do some serious damage!

Awesome Knife.
This is one awesome knife. I've had it for less than a week and it's already one of my favorites. It's very sharp. I love the way it feels in my hand. I have used many knives over thee years and this is one of the best. You can't beat the price. I highly recommend.

Do not use heated dry!
I bought these for my restauranrnknige exchange business. Whatever glue thatveas used to afix the handles bleeds through the handle material, making an awful mess. Slowly replacing all of them with Dexter.

Better than much more expensive options.
Much better to handle and holds its edge far longer than knives that cost more than three times as much. Excellent value for money.
