Great add on if you need bass
It's lound and deep. It's a sub so not much else to say

Great Sound
Added this to my Theatre Bar 8 and RS5 rear speaker set up. Changes the whole dynamic of the sound. Excellent sound, and, if turned up, vibration through the floor

Too powerful for my house! (Had to return it)
I actually ended up returning this, but not because it’s bad—honestly, it was just too much for my living room. I have standard timber stud walls, and this thing was shaking the entire room. Even at low volume, the bass was rattling the doors and walls rather than just filling the space. I tried everything to tame it, even doing a proper “sub crawl” on my hands and knees to find a better spot for it, but I just couldn’t stop the room from vibrating. It connected instantly to my Sony system and the build is lovely, but be warned: if you have hollow or timber walls, this might be overkill. If you have solid block walls or concrete floors, though? You’ll absolutely love it.

I recommend it.
This is a big boon to your Sony soundbar. You get the most out of it when you are watching films on Prime or Netflix. It sets itself up in seconds and that is you connected to your Sony soundbar. Download the app and you can control it from your phone.

Bad system between HT-A9 m2 and SA-SW5
Not good balance. Very prone to booming rather than thumping.

Good quality, great sound
Bought to match my sound bar. Solid build. Fairly compact as sub-woofers go. Set up was very simple using the Bravia app. Linked immediately. Control via remote or the app. Plenty of power when turned up. It is very noticeable when it’s not turned on. When it’s balanced correctly it is not immediately obvious that it’s on unless something with big base like an explosion is on the tv, then you really feel it. Reasonable value for money, mid range price.

Could do better.
This is connected to my new ht-a5000, (already reviewed), BOTH VERY OVERRATED. Very expensive, I can't afford to risk the ht-a7000. Very disappointed with the current sony attitude and promotion of their AV products.
