Great Pedals!
These pedals are well made and definitely worth the money. I had watched a few YouTube videos comparing these to the Fookers and decided to go with the Race Face Chesters due to better sealing on these (from what I saw in the video). They fit perfectly and provide a great grip when riding. Highly recommend.

Very grippy and smooth spinning
These do improve the ride. It's a long pedal (running the length of the foot, not the width) so you have more surface area to press down on. I found my feet felt better after a long ride just because of that. I don't have to put all my weight on the ball of my foot if I don't want to. I can spread the weight across more of my foot as needed.I also have really wide feet and the width of the pedal was good enough that the side of my foot isn't hanging off the edge.As far as the grip pins, they hold really well. My favorite biking shoe is old sneakers. Nice and broken in so they are super comfortable. But that also usually means the tread is worn flat. Even with no tread on my rubber soles shoes these pins help my feet in place firmly. But they don't prevent you from easily lifting your foot up and getting off the pedals quickly. They just keep your feet from sliding forward or side to side. So you're not wearing your foot muscles out by constantly adjusting to stay on the pedal, and when you want to get off the bike in a hurry your foot still lifts right off.I did try a few different pairs of shoes. Softer rubber grips these much better than harder rubber. So your grip experience my vary depending on the shoes you're wearing. I wouldn't suggest foam cushioned shoes though (the newer kind with the durable foam but really soft soles) I think the pins would destroy those in a hurry. My first ride on these the day after I put them on ended up being in the rain. (Lucky me!) Even when thoroughly wet I didn't lose any traction on these. The bearings are good. They rotate very smooth with no grinding feel at all like you get on cheaper pedals. It's a nice clean action. And the bears don't provide much resistance that adds to the energy needed to pedal. The only thing I'm not in love with is the plastic piece in the center covering the center axle. There are no pins on that part so that's a slippery part in the middle of the pedal. I may wrap a small piece of grip tape around the center just to add a little friction there. It's not a huge deal at all. But I could notice it. It should be molded with a diamond cut pattern in the center if there are no pins. But this is very very minor. It'd be nice to have traction in the middle for those times when you lift your foot off the pins and don't set it down quite perfectly. All in all I really like them. Worth every penny.

Great light weight pedals
These pedals are amazing. Super grip. I usually ride $150 Specialized pedals but I tried these just to see how I liked them. I love them. Alot lighter then the other pedals and smooth. Don't buy cheap knock offs. Raceface makes nothing but quality parts. I run alot of their parts. Highly recommended.

Good pedals
I’ve only had them a few days and they are great. I’ll update in a few months. Plenty of room for your feet. They hold them down with the studs well enough.

Affordable, solid, and good grip - so far so good
I finally replaced the factory pedals on a '17 Kona Lava Dome with the Chesters. Initial impressions from the 3ish hours I spent on them this weekend are very good. The pedals appear to be well made and they provide WAY better grip than my old pedals. I am about 140lbs, wear Vans Sk8-Hi Pros (gum sole), and ride mostly single-track in Wisconsin. My feet felt planted through the pump track and on the trails. My stroke seemed to be more efficient. By being able to power through a larger portion of the rotation, start the push earlier with a forward motion and pulling through the bottom longer, the few short climbs felt much easier. Some sections were a bit wet and I did not notice any impact. It wasn't the muddiest ride but they did shed mud without having to find a stick to clean them out. They were as easy to install as any other pedal. I used a crescent wrench that was probably too wide because I was too lazy to go grab a 15mm and I don't have a pedal wrench. One side is reverse threaded (just like every other pedal). It took about 20 minutes mostly because I needed to refill my coffee.I can't really say to much about durability other than they didn't snap off on the first ride. There is probably some rider somewhere that can break them - I seriously doubt I ever will. There are some lighter options out there but I'd bet if you're considering spending more to save 50-100g you aren't looking at platform pedals.***Update***I've got about 100 miles on these now - half on single-track. Still very happy with them. The pedals shed mud well and have kept me feeling secure on the bike. Zero issues. Would definitely recommend.

My new favorite pedals
Awesome pedals, I can wear my normal sneakers and still have great grip when just cruising around. Haven't had to replace any pins yet, but it's easy enough to do with an allen wrench. Bearings still going strong, no noise. And remember the direction to remove pedals is "Back = off" when straddling the bike as one side is reverse thread.

Raceface Pedals Work Great
I have used Raceface Chester pedals in the past and completely love their grip. I bought this pair for my 9yo daughter’s mountain bike and they work great, especially in wet and muddy conditions. The only con, especially for kids, is if they do slip and the pins hit your shin, you are in for a world of hurt. But this is easily remedied by wearing shin protection.
