Great
We never let ourselves run out of these. Versatile and excellent for the motorhome. Make what you need for your meal. No half empty cans in the fridge. Also, they taste delicious

Handy and tasty, but you pay for it
We love the convenience of making these quickly in the microwave in a bowl with some water. The flavor is really good, but the per serving price is a bit steep for beans.

Do you like Refried Beans that DON'T taste like canned library paste?
I first discovered these refried beans in California. Alas, when I moved to Colorado, I couldn't find my favorite frijoles refritos anywhere! What's a tostada/burrito/seven layer dip fiend supposed to do?I'm a refried bean snob, to be sure. Can't stand the canned ones, as most of them taste... uh, you know... "canned". Also, once you open that them, you are committed to the entire can. As a single, I like my refrieds, but I can't eat an entire can in one sitting, and the idea of having them for breakfast, lunch and dinner the following day in order to avoid spoilage makes me shudder Amazon to the rescue! I searched Amazon Foods and lo and behold there were my beloved Santa Fe Instant Southwestern Style Refried Beans. They're freeze-dried, so loooooong shelf life, you can make a much or as little as you want; just use equal water & beans. They taste great when fixed as directed, but you can also buck them up with a dash of comino (aka powdered cumin) and a bit of *gasp* lard for a really authentic taste. They start out soupy, but just keep stirring them until you get the consistency you want.

Perfect for 2 or 3 people
These are the only refried beans I buy. They’re more expensive than canned, but using a can with our small family, we always end up throwing some away. With these dehydrated refried beans, I can customize the amount to eliminate waste. They’re easy to use and taste great!

Yummy!
These are a staple for me, both at home and on backpacking trips. You can use them as a dip, as a burrito filler, or just eat 'em. And they taste great!

I'm sure I'm not the only person here because of Andrew Skurka. His rice and beans recipe is a quick but delicious. These beans keep for a long time and are scrumptious every time I prepare them. I've never used them in any recipe but Skunk's but I'm sure they'd be yummy. Just click "add to cart."
