Works much better than a choker chain
Easy to put on and take off with metal latch, reliable, adjustable links to change length (not so easy, but you only do it once and it is very strong with good directions), soft prong covers and still very effective. I found it works better than the choker chains, especially for a dog that pulls. (Never tie with this collar.) Sometimes I hook the leash on one d-ring, then click/latch the collar on the dog so I have a hold on a hyper dog that won't be still, then I can easily snap the leash into the second d-ring after the collar is on. Make sure the latch is closed completely. Long hair can get in the way and prevent it from closing-on any latch.

Just what I needed
I have two rescue GSDs who have had little training. This does not harm them and is very helpful when working with a powerful dog. Good product for me. It takes some effort to adjust the size as it is a solidly made product. I would purchase again and might just do that in a smaller size.

Great training aid
I took in a German Shepherd that I don’t think had ever been on a leash before. He appears to be around two years old and, he was severely underweight but, after being fed on a regular basis for a while, he was getting bigger and stronger and, I needed something that could control him should he decide he wanted to eat one of the neighbors’ dogs or kids. I never liked the idea of these collars but, after doing some research, I now see the value. This isn’t an “all the time” collar. It’s only for training and, when we’re not training, it comes off. I like the fact that this collar came with plastic caps on the prongs. The buckle make it easy to put it on and take it off. He knows when I pick it up, we’re going on a long walk, not just to the back yard.

You Better Be Strong to Adjust This Collar
I'm fine with the product in general, except for one thing - the strength it takes to remove the prongs and add them back while you're getting it adjusted to the dog's neck. It is outrageously difficult to "pinch" those prongs. The video with the girl saying you pinch the prongs is a total joke. It takes more than a pinch! I finally used a gripping tool (pliers) to work with one of the prongs, and it took me 3 tries. I struggled with leather gloves on for protection with the other prongs. I think I have the collar sized right for my female lab - I had to remove 4 prongs. The manufacturer of this collar needs to include some kind of a tool to move the prong ends together while removing or adding them - or advise buyers how hard it is to do this. I was furious last night as I struggled to almost midnight with this collar, and would have sent it back had I not been able to get it right. I'm not weak, by the way. I've put together all kinds of products ordered on-line, including big tv cabinets, all alone, as I have no help. Anyway, I took my lab out into the yard a few times today, and I seem to have better control of her - she is a terrible puller - she's 1 year and 5 months old and high-strung. I still cannot even think of taking her out in public, so I have hopes this collar is part of the solution to making a civilized dog out of her. I spent $1600 on private behavior lessons for her last summer - all for nothing. True to the breed, she is very lovable , but I'm afraid she will injure me with the pulling and bolting when she sees things she's unfamiliar with, like birds or strangers. She needs to learn that I'm the Alpha Dog in my pack of 3 dogs - not her. Hope this collar helps.
