Great when it's very cold.
My son and I use these and they are great. Normally use a beanie but when the temp really drops down these are perfect.

Suffocatingly thin
I'm a distance runner in flat NW Ohio and I bought this to protect my face during my runs on cold, windy winter days. The balaclava does well at keeping my face and neck warm during these runs without overheating and causing me to want to rip it off my head mid run. So props for that. But I do have a few issues:A) It's too thin. I typically have to pair this with another hat, hood, or earmuffs on super cold (typically anything below 25 degrees) and breezy days in order to keep my head and ears warm. Brr.B) It's too loose. Maybe my head is on the smaller side (others will say differently), but the "one size fits all" sizing doesn't quite work for me. It feels loose on my head, especially around the openings allowing air to get in on windy days (which seems to be every day around here).C) It's suffocating. I really wish the mouth piece allowed for greater breathability and ventilation. With it up, it doesn't feel like it allows enough oxygen through and as I breathe deeper as my run continues, the fabric tends to come into my mouth. It tastes poor. As I exhale, it starts to get damp with condensation and, since it's freezing outside, begins to harden. When I can't take it anymore and I move the mouth piece down, my lower face is wet and very easily dries out and my lips chap. Then I get pissy.D) It's not reflective. Since it's almost always dark during the winter by the time I am able to run, I prefer to wear things that are reflective and safer. I did buy the orange color as it is brighter (and, frankly, the best color ever), but I think all running gear - especially winter running gear - should be made standard with some sort of reflective component.

Believe.
Bought this right before a ski trip to Tahoe and I am convinced it kept me on the slopes and out of the mens room with air dryers off my face in an attempt to thaw it out. I was told by a member of search and rescue that the two days I selected to ski were some of the coldest they had seen in awhile with minus windchills and single-digit temperatures. It was cold. The hood was snug but not restrictive and I have a large melon of a head. I read complaints of the hood not being long enough and though I agree, I also had an under armour cold gear mock turtleneck that I was able to tuck the bottom part of the hood under with no issues. I could breathe with moderate ease through it and while a similar product with vents became wet and froze up on my brother, the area around my mouth simply became moist by breath but never became cold or began to freeze. This was one of three purchases by under armour that were worth every penny and more. One other item of note was how it kept wind out. I was aware of the wind but it never penetrated the hood while breathing, again, was nominal though slightly above having nothing over my nose and mouth. Fantastic product and with the Prime membership, I had it in 2 days. No, I am not a paid spokesperson, but I should be. :)

Hood does a surprisingly good job given how thin it is
Works well, very warm, however, i bought it because i run a lot, and generally keep a beard in the winter (which i hate) in order to keep my face/neck warm. Hood does a surprisingly good job given how thin it is. The only draw back is (and i saw similar on someone else's review) when your running and breathing more rapidly then you would when not undergoing strenuous physical activity, it becomes quite a labor to suck air through the face covering quickly enough.I'm still rather satisfied with my purchase, the simple fix for me is I only pull the face mask up onto my chin as far as my bottom lip leaving my mouth and nose exposed, and so far it has worked flawlessly. One tip i can recommend is if you are using this for running/cycling, use a sweatband or such under-neath since the hood does not absorb sweat and after about 4-5 miles it runs free flowingly into my eyes. However, If you need something to keep you warm while walking your dog, shoveling, going for walks, or anything outdoors that doesn't require increased oxygen flow, it's an excellent product (if the temperature is below 15 degrees Fahrenheit or so you may want to put your coat hood up over it or wear a hat on top).

Keeps my head super warm
I'm a cyclist. I ride my bike to and from work 5 days a week and everywhere else. The recent temperatures dropped down to 25 degrees at 1 am when riding home. This mask has replaced my beanie that I would have to remove soft liner from helmet to fit on my head and my neoprene face mask which is heavy and tough to breathe through. I love this mask. The Infrared definitely makes a difference because I have cold gear compression shirt and leggings which didn't keep me as warm as this mask did. I will be switching all my gear to the infrared cold gear because of how warm it keeps me. I love that I can adjust it to cover nose, drop to under nose, under mouth or just use as a neck piece. If the temperature dropped lower then I probably would've need a beanie also but I can deal with that with how well this cuts down the cold. It's easy to breathe through when your mouth is covered and I have no problems with pulling over my earphones or bluetooth while riding. The Infrared technology seems to take a few minutes to warm up from your body heat but when it does it really keeps the warmth in. I've washed it everyday for the last few weeks and still looks the same as the day I got it.

good but relatively thin
I agree with the other reviewers that this wouldn't be something that you'd wear by itself for -10F weather. However, as a layering device, it works pretty well. So you'll still want a hat / hood over this and not believe the marketing crap about it magically heating up your head with it's wonder material. My main reason for looking for something was that the scarf I was using to cover my face in the below 0F weather kept fogging up my glasses. This isn't perfect in that regard but if I exhale vigorously, it mostly keeps my glasses clear. It took a little breaking into in that the elastic around the nose was almost uncomfortably tight but after a couple of uses, it got used to me (or I got used to it). I wish there was more definition for the nose though as I want it covering my nose but pulling it up, it starts to get into the bottom of my eyes.

I've been using their products for well over 10 years and this balaclava isn't as good as I thought
I must say I was expecting more from the UA , I've been using their products for well over 10 years and this balaclava isn't as good as I thought. The quality is good like any other UA garment it's just the fit is a bit poor to be honest. the face cover should be more fitted in the top section cos it's gets loose and sticks off ones face , tends to slide down. My head is an average size , no hair and it feels like it could have been a bit bigger. other than that it's very nice. cold gear fabrics are great , very good as an under helmet balaclava.

It's ok
Pretty cozy when cold, but breath makes it very wet when cold out. After a few uses, it stinks quite a bit compared to merino wool.Pretty neat that headphones fit through without interference. Not sure the "infrared" helps since I also found merino to be warmer.....

This is a fantastic product
This is a fantastic product, keeps me really warm when walking in very cold conditions. It's light keeps the wind out. I've even used it playing golf on bitterly cold winter mornings. Fantastic. I've recommended this to friends and colleagues who have purchased them too. They cannot speak highly enough
