19-Mar-23 update:The pair of dumbbell still works quite well.. only thing is there is noise while using as is a nut or screw has fallen and moving inside. This happened first with one and now with both. It makes me a bit uncomfortable as this is not a good sign!!The good:Among the most price effective - Great Price!!Looks sturdy - The weight plates are coated (not sure what), loos like there is a central steel rod on which a bush moved by the mechanism picks successive weights for successive movement - as such looks a very reliable mechanism (not likely to break or give away)Mechanism - Indeed a very innovative, intuitive and easy to use mechanism where you simply grip the dumbbell and rotate the grip through these 5 stops to pick different weights. The mechanism super smooth and works very well indeed. While there is slight slackness with plates - that is understandable for adjustable dumbbells and it still feels sturdy enough.Overall Fit and Finish - In most places pretty excellent (Except couple of places like the sticker saying 25lb is looking improperly stuck and as such gives a cheap look on close observation; weight places look a bit rough in finish (may be I am being picky here)I like the fact that a lot of it is steel/iron - weight plates, central rod, collar, hopefully the mechanism. Was hoping though most of it was metal!Not so good/doubts:While as such it looks sturdy and durable - not sure of the exact mechanism and how durable it will be. Also the mechanism as I can see is heavily dependent on the weight places being properly placed on the base. If for some reason the base / part of the slots break - it will create issues.I had ordered one piece to see and decide. I have made up my mind to order the second one. Hope to come back with comments after usage for a few months.Claims to be made in India- but clearly the labels tell it is Chinese!! Misrepresentation is unfortunate…I am tempted to reduce the rating a notch. But I have used it for a few days now and really love the product!
