Is over paneling a problem ? The 100/20 specs 290 watt for a 12v system. My 2 panels are 300 watt together. Series/parallel volt/amp within range. ?

On the panel side this MPPT will take max 100V and on the battery side it can push max 20A. This means that your Voc (open circuit voltage of the whole string should never be more than 100V. I had these running to the max, 1 controller controlling 4 panels of Voc 48V each. I did 2 panels in series and 2 in parallel. I live in the tropics. during the morning this gives me on the battery side a Pmax of 19 A at about 50V. the controller gets hot but works fine for over a year already. When the battery is full, the PV Voltage goes up to 96V with low Amps. If you 'd run the Amps higher, the white 20A fuse will trip (looks like a car fuse). Never put a panel string higher then Voc 100 V as that will damage the electronics of the controller. I would recommend a slightly lower amps (battery side) and V(panels side) then what I do in order for the controller not to become as hot. I have put a computer fan on mine now to keep it a bit cooler. These are really good controllers. Hope this helps Patrick

Is the dongle or bluetooth required to make adjustments? How can I adjust battery chemistry or voltage with just this unit?

The cable data is required by the equipment for configuration according battery type. the cable data is an additional accessory. You can visit : https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Manual_BlueSolar_MPPT_75-10_up_to_100-20/en/configuration-and-settings.html

It has a Load output? Need more details on that

The load output feature on the Blue Solar MPPT is used to regulate how much load is placed on your batteries to help prevent them from running batteries flat. IT is merely a safety feature that helps promote the lifespan of your batteries.

Great 48 volt solar golf cart charger

Very good controller, 12-48 volts, will charge most battery types to include LifeP04. This charger works well two 320 watt panels wired in series. I am able to charge my 48 volt Club Car Carryall 6 which has a 105 AH LiFePo4 battery. The Bluetooth works well on the SmartSolar 100/20. You program the desired voltage and battery type. It’s simple and you can monitor the Victron and battery from your phone. I highly recommend this item. It’s easy to install and program. This 100 volt / 20 amp controller will fit many applications.
