Another Brilliant Addition to Taschen's XL Line of Art Books...
My only regret in regards to Taschen is that I didn't discover the company a lot sooner. There are a lot of out of print books that I would have loved to have been able to pick up at retail price. If your unfamiliar with Taschen's XL or XXL line, be prepared to have all your expectations regarding big art books redefined. Their XL books are perfect coffee table style books. They usually measure around 10" x 14" in size, have around 450-550 pages, and weigh in at around 7 to 8 pounds. They have become one of my absolute favorite line of art books. Taschen's XXL line is even more hard core. They are usually around 13" x 19", have the same number of pages as the XL line, and easily weigh in at roughly 13-15 pounds. The XXL line are so big that they come delivered in thier own cardboard box that has a handle at the top. This ensures that the book gets to you in mint condition and it offers a great way of storing the book without worrying about damage. Once you get used to Taschen's XL & XXL lines....well, most art books will seem mediocre by comparison. If your a serious art book collector, its very easy to become addicted to buying Taschen's XL & XXL line of books. I know I am in that boat. I anxiously look forward to each new book released in each of those lines. I actually had to build a hardwood bookshelf from scratch as my normal bookshelves just weren't suitable for these size books, especially the XXL line. You can always stack the XXL books horizontally, but that makes getting the ones at the bottom a total pain. These are literally books that will render 99% of the bookshelves out there obsolete as they just arent big enough to store books of this size.As for Peter Lindbergh: A Different Vision on Fashion, this is yet another brilliant addition to the Taschen XL line. I own quite a few Lindberg books and this one blows all of them out of the water. This book literally contains every single picture by Lindberg that I would want in a Lindbergh book. Taschen not only knows how to make beautiful extra large art books, they are also extremely talented at editing and putting together bodies of work that best exemplify particular artists. Very rarely will you come across books that are missing pictures you were really hoping would be included. This company specializes in quality art books and believe me, they know exactly what thier doing. The fact that you can purchase most of their XL books for just $40-$50....well, that only makes other art books look that much more mediocre by comparison as you can easily spend $35-$40 on books that are half the size of XL books and not nearly as well made.Bottom line - Strike another mark in the win column for Taschen as Peter Lindbergh: A Different Vision on Fashion is a perfect example of Taschen's XL line of art books. Basically, beautiful extra large art books that are just stunning through and through. This is now the definitive Peter Lindbergh book in the art book market. Again, I own most of his other books and none of them come close to comparing with this book. If your a fan of Peter Lindbergh or just fashion photography in general, this should definitely be on your "to buy" list. Just remember, if your new to Taschen's XL or XXL line of art books, be prepared to have your expectations regarding art books entirely redefined and also be prepeared to want to buy a LOT more of Taschen's books in the future. Once you start down this path of books, its very hard getting off of it. Of course, if you love beautiful art books then that is ultimately a very good thing and before too long you will have a collection of Taschen art books that will make you do a double take every time you walk buy them. Not to mention, the level of satisfaction you will have after looking through one of their XL or XXL art books is a level of satisfaction that will be very tough to match by other art book companies. Again, my only regret in regards to Taschen is I didn't discover the company sooner than I did.An absolute must buy for any serious fan of fashion photography or any serious collector of photography related art books. Just another beautiful release by Taschen!!5 Stars and then some!!

Have been putting this off
This book was on my list for a year and when I heard the news that he sadly passed, i knew i had to get this book to keep him alive in my memories every time i look at this book on my studio coffee table. Such beautiful and thick and heavy, worth every penny book for a photographer or fashion enthusiast. Full of true inspiring portraits.

Peter's best collection - and printed well
Peter's best collection - and printed well (but not sure if the deep blacks will last over time or fade). If this book was bigger in size like his other books with full bleed images, that would have been even better. He is a master of fashion editorials without the glamour of clothes or artifacts. Instead he uses photo journalistic black while. and keeps the images loose, fluid, arresting. Almost like Cartier- Bresson of fashion

Whoa...
This is one of the best books I have ever bought. It is pricey but I do not regret a single dollar. The photos in this book are amazing, they kind of make me want to give up trying to become a photographer because I will not reach the level of Peter Lindbergh. This book is a great addition to anyone's library.
