I didn't buy this for myself to be a stocking stuffer. This came as an after thought. It comes in two burlap bags tied with jute string and makes a nice package suitable for a gift. I believe any camper, backpacker, or prepper would be happy to find this in their holiday stocking. I know I would. It comes with precut strips of fat wood that can easily be placed in your fire kit. And the quality of the fatwood is excellent.

I highly recommend getting & purchasing this for your fire kit or if you have to rely on or depend on to being able to get a fire going in unpredictable or wet & raining cold or windy days & you need to get a fire going right away to get warm. It burns for a decent amount of time I would comfortably say anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes all depends on if you use shavings or the whole piece of fatwood. And it is definitely a reasonable price with the quantity you receive. Definitely a fire starting item to have on you at all times and in your fire kit

I can't really criticize the product itself because it's nice fatwood, just as described. But I should have paid more attention to the product details. Notice the product dimensions are 6 x 4 x 3 inches. So yep, it's small! Perfect for a short camping trip, and at 12 oz probably even lightweight enough for backpacking. But I was shopping for my home fireplace and hoping for much more quantity. My bad, but a product photo that indicates the size and scale would have been helpful, even though the details are right there in the fine print. I can't comment on their effectiveness or ease of use because they went straight to the garage with my camping gear.

This stuff is packed with pine resin; which is why fatwood burns. The pieces are smaller than I would have thought but for my purposes that isn't a big deal. They are easy to either feather stick with or scrape shavings off of with the sharp spine of your knife. When I received mine I immediately took a random piece out of the bag it comes in (two bags) and scraped some shavings off and lit it with my ferro rod.

What a complete and total joke these are and how misleading!! These teeny little fat wood pieces won’t balance on any fire grate because they’re too short. They burn up in a very short period of time. I thought I was getting the normal length fatwood pieces. This was a total rip off and I feel defrauded. Way over priced! They took advantage of other companies being out of stock.

Perfect for getting a good fire started even with damp wood. Just light the end with a lighter and set under my little teepee of sticks and had a fire going in minutes with just 1 stick. No brainer fire starter

Several issues with these 1) small size, 2) once lit, would go out easily, 3) dries out if not kept in sealed plastic bag. Generally not a good value as we often had to use 3-4 pieces to light the fire. We've had much better luck with Holy Smokes.

I had a big bag of the same wood (and same brand) and I thought it was the same. It came in two very small pouches. It's my mistake, I should have read the description more. It arrived quickly. It burns quickly and it smells great. Will check if they carry the larger bags.
