Replacement upgrade Audio Cable For Audio-Technica ATH-R70x Professional headphone 1.2m/4FT

Original cable was ungainly for stationary listening. Quality of the fittings was an unexpected benefit: almost jewel-like and thoughtfully designed to protect the braided cable, the headphones, and the amplifier: in all, very well executed.

These worked fine as replacements, but unfortunately died after only 5 months. It's a shame that these are so unreliable, but there aren't a whole lot of options out there since AT refuses to stock these cables.

They do their job, and they definitely save me from having to buy an entirely new set of headphones since it's always just this cable that goes out and nothing else. This is my 3rd cable set, so my second time buying these replacements. Both previous cables have lasted for about 11 months before one ear starts having problems and eventually stops working.Would be five stars if they lasted for multiple years, especially for the $27.00 price tag.

Nice looking and sturdy cable, but not wired correctly. The stock Audio Technica cable is wired in such way that it doesn't matter which 2.5mm connector goes to which ear. But with this cable it does matter. So as long as you take time to figure out which 2.5mm connector goes to which side, you are OK. But, you can end up with the Left and Right swapped like I did at first, before I realized that the familiar songs sound wrong.

Worked out well for me though I needed a short extension (even so the net length is better). The original is bit bulky and much too long.

I bought this cable because the stock cable is way too long, and other replacements cost at least twice as much. It feels sturdy enough, and I am pretty gentle with my equipment. I expect they'll last.

edit: up to 6 failed cables now. Lowering review to 2 stars. Not only is it abundantly clear that they're all designed with a flaw and not isolated incidents, the manufacturer has made no attempt to revise the product.edit: up to my 5th now. All failed the same way.I'm buying my 3th cable because almost like clockwork they fail after a year. It's always the same problem: a short in the cable starts to develop.I'm careful with my equipment, in fact, I rarely leave my computer desk. I don't wind it up, or take it to go. It just sits there, attached to my DAC. Admittedly I do use it every day.I still haven't found a better alternative for a shorter cable for these headphones. But when one does arrive, I will buy it and not this product.

Works alright, not the highest quality out there so it will break after some usage but so did the OEM stock cable so what can you expect
