I love this computer!
I got this computer since my old laptop died on me and I needed something for college. Perfect college laptop, lots of space and good graphics card. I use it to play a few games every know and then and it's perfect for that as well. It's even the computer I'm using to write this review! I see this lap top sticking with me for the next handful of years and definitely worth the price.

Great value for the money but it does have a few drawbacks
Once the laptop get you up and running it's fine but the boot up time is horrendous compared to an SSD drive. 5400 RPM hard drives are a thing of the past and this is the reason but this one is so slow. The i7 processor the 12 gigs of RAM are great and a lot for gaming and video card is decent, but the 5400 RPM drive just brings the entire experience down because you spend a lot of time waiting for stuff to load.

HP Pavilion Laptop
I've had nothing but problems with this laptop. Shuts down pages or crashes all together. I've had a professional service it several times and it still crashes. The cursor does it what it wants unexpectedly so I end up clicking on things I didn't want too. I've spent over $1,500 having it serviced. Features I really like are that the keyboard can be backlit, keyboard buttons to change brightness, and the power cord is on the right side.

Pretty deceiving..2.5 stars.
Very deceiving, you can get this at Wal-Mart now for around 559$ before taxes. Good specs overall, except the 940MX is a very low end card, for new games. Sure you can play games on low settings, but they look horrible. And even some older games you can't play at all. Or if you try it will just stutter all over the place. This isn't even in the same league as the GTX950/or 960...I think people get excited when the see a laptop that has an Nvidia logo. My son bought it for college and I said, well, you should spend a little more and get something much better. It's really not a bad price for what it is, but just don't expect it to run games at high or maxed out settings. Also the B/O speaker on this thing are garbage, not even a subwoofer, which you can find on cheaper laptops. So this review is from my experience after spending a rainy day with it, and trying out some games. My son decided to go for a bigger Asus with a 970 in it, which is a far superior card...and it was on sale for 899$. So you really do get what you pay for. Though 12gb or Ram for this price, I will say is quite impressive. Though you can't tell a difference when you go over anything above 8 gigs, it's really hard to tell, when multitasking. And the I7 is very good. But still a bit slow on Windows 10. But hey I've never seen anything run fast on Win10. ha! So by for the basics, (in gaming) everything else should probably be ok. Quality is good, not great though either.

This HP runs at over 3 ghz and is amazing. It's fast
I upgraded from a 9 year old IBM Idea pad that started having age issues. This HP runs at over 3 ghz and is amazing. It's fast, has a DVD burner which a lot of laptops don't have anymore. The screen display is amazing, and the touch screen is a bonus for the price.
