TekneticsGamma 6000 Metal Detector for Adults with 8" Searchcoil, Advanced Target-ID, Ground Balancing, Depth Indicator, and Multi-Tone Discrimination

Great, moderately priced detector. On par with ones costing $200 more. Love the clean display and logical settings. I do usability for a living, and many detectors suck in this regard. I have three gripes. First, mine does not retain settings when you turn it off. Because it's chirpy until you turn the sensitivity down and its default is full volume, it goes nuts when you first turn it on, nearly every time. A newbie might freakout and think the thing is defective. If you're a neophyte, read the manual first, especially the part about turning down the sensitivity. Second, there's no display light, which is minor. Finally, don't be cheap as I was--get the DD coil. With the regular coil, you're really missing the potential of the 6000. I'm not talking 20% better--I'm talking night and day better. I bought a NEL DD for it, went back to places I already covered, and found a ton of stuff. I'm sure the Teknetics DD is nearly as good. It's not the fault of the 6000. DDs are a lot better, more expensive but worth every cent. Buy it!

Sehr gutes Gerät. Viel genauer als die Garrett. Daher sehr zu empfehlen. Spule ist auch sehr gut. Habe viel Spaß damit

Va benissimo, è un metal semiprofessionale molto preciso e potente. Unica pecca istruzioni non in italiano..sono riuscito a imparare come si usa traducendo un pezzettino alla volta e guardando le immagini!! Tolto questo piccolo dettaglio a parer mio si merita tutte 5 le stelle. Il pacco e arrivato prima della data di consegna!! tutto ok!!!

Für ein wenig Spaß und Zeitvertreib tut der Gamma was er soll. Will man aber wirklich "Schätze" finden sollte man in die gehobenere Klasse investieren. Er zeigt, wenn man mit ihm vertraut ist bis 10cm Tiefe recht gut an.

So this is another review after like 3 months into it....I was really excited and had great experience and finds with this detector but as time passed the metal detector slowly stopped working like it did, now it gives off false defects as in it would make a couple beeps thinking it was a target then when I pass over it again it stops detecting .... the detector just became more confusing over time since it wouldn't actually detect anything anymore. I've taken great care of it but its let me down...
