ECHOGEAR Wall Mount Shelf - Steel Floating Shelf Supports 15lbs of Streaming Devices, Gaming Consoles, and Cable Boxes - EGAV1

I looked at several different shelves and was drawn to this one because it was not made of glass. It has braces underneath the shelf, implying sturdiness. The dimensions were really just right for my turntable...almost exactly as wide as its footprint, and about four inches shy on depth--but that was okay. I got the shelf mounted (which was easy, using the excellent included instructions) into a wall stud, got the turntable situated, admired how awesome the new setup looked, and eagerly put a record on to see how it would do. It did poorly. The issue is that the shelf easily conducts vibrations from being touched, or the turntable on top of it being touched, with prolonged "sustain". Meaning...simply and lightly touching the turntable while a record is playing results in jiggling and wobbling which, of course, causes the stylus to jump and skip around. While the shelf did (mostly) solve one problem--getting the turntable mounted to a wall to avoid vibrations and skipping from heavy-footed people walking by--it created a different problem, that being vibration and skipping caused by the lack of rigidity in the shelf.Not only that, the shelf easily relayed vibrations from a nearby shutting door, and still would skip with heavier than normal footsteps nearby. I chalk a lot of that, however, to the poor construction of the room in which I'm trying to enjoy my turntable.For an AV device that has few or no moving parts, like a game console, or a simple DVD player, this would be a very nice and inexpensive solution. For something like a turntable, it's not fit for purpose. Because my use is likely outside of what the design was intended, I am deducting just one star. I will say, however, that the construction does have some deficiencies: the shelf dips between the welded-on brackets, so while it is level when something sits completely across it, it is not completely flat.Thank goodness it was cheap. I will probably find some other, simpler use for it.

I have run a daycare in my home for over 20 years, it was time for a remodel of the room. I found several products on line but decided to go with this product. I was hoping for durability and I was very happy when it came in. This is VERY sturdy and holds up the items needed under the TV. I love how it looks sleek and like its floating on the wall. We didn't want tempered glass as most are made with. This product is made very nice. I do not think you will be disappointed. I do a lot of shopping on line and have to return products often, you will not have to do this with this product. I am giving this product a 5 Star.* 1 star (Nope, DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!): I would either return or throw away this product. It was a waste of my money and not functional. I will never order again.** 2 star (Think twice before buying - don't like it): I'm not a fan of this item and I won't order it again, but it has at least one positive quality.*** 3 star (It’s ok): This item has both positive and negative qualities. It may work for some people, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase or recommend it.**** 4 star (I like it): This item arrived and functions as advertised. Installation was a breeze. The shelf is sturdy and is finished well.There's less room than the dimensions suggest because of the curved nature of the shelf vs a sqaure edge. The edges are NOT the dimensions listed.The two screws that hold the shelf are lacking. Since the screws are side by side,it allows the shelf to rock one way or the other if you load one end of the shelf. There should be either screws that match the screw hole size or the mount holes should protrude to lock the shelf in place. If you keep the items centered it likely wont be an issue however. If you handle items a lot on this shelf i would expect it to loosen.You can plainly see what i used this for. It barely fits however does work. Theres simply no wiggle room. If I would have noticed the dimensions provided were not including the edge of the shelf i would have tried something else because i needed the room towards the edge.This will work for the intended purpose but just barely with the smallest UPS i could find that had a removable battery from APC. In only deducted one star for the dimensions issue because it did end up OK for me.Photo will be added.

Great shelf, pretty easy installment and good instructions. If you’re hanging a cable box it’s not the perfect size but it will work as shown in pix.Comes with hardware to hang from stud or from sheet rock, I hung from stud, feels really sturdy.

this shelf is small (what I wanted) and seems to be quite sturdy. I really like the fact that the wall base is metal and not plastic. It came with a variety of screws to allow installation in any scenario - wall, brick, etc. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star overall is that it seems like it could spin if the items on the shelf are not centered. This could be because I don't have the hand strength to tighten the screws attaching the shelf to the base. My son is coming by to try tighten those later. Over all this is exactly what I was looking for. I am very pleased with both the product and service.

I have a wall mounted TV and wanted a shelf to hold my DVD player and TiVo mini. I had read reviews about some of the glass shelves breaking. So, I didn't want to take that chance. This was one of the few shelves that was small and not made out of glass. I've had no issues with it and it looks good.

Easy to install and has a nice look to it. In hindsight I would have purchased a larger size because when I compared the size of the shelf to the receiver I forgot to take the cables into consideration (they stick out of the back about two inches). The receiver still fits on the shelf but just hangs over a little bit. Overall it's a great shelf, easy to install and it looks nicer then a glass shelf.
