My rV has a plug so this solar panel is set up to hook up directly to the battery or is the wire for what’s on top of my rV already?

My rv has a zamp controller installed and several plugs on the roof from the factory. Just plugged in the panel and it was set. I think there is a different kit for hooking directly to the battery.

Why are are these Zamp panels so expensive? Are they more efficient?

they are made in usa , and have a very long warranty , that you will not need because they are very well made . I have 170 watt lives on top of my ungaraged van year round snow ,ice ,etc. they also make the best controllers .this keep my fridge freezer running year round in my vw also have same stuff in my arctic fox camper . you would not believe how many people on the samba vw forum have burnt there expensive classic vw to a crisp using cheep solar controllers and wiring .

How do these perform for two 6 volt batteries wired in Series in a 26' RV?

they maintain 4 125 MGP 12 Volt batteries well boon docked at a race track cut generator operation to a minimum very good product I will buy again

I pull the batteries and put them on a tender during the cold months of winter. Should I cover the solar panel and/or do anything with the controller?

Currently we do not have any direct recommendations to cover the panel as this is not a necessity. With the batteries disconnected your controller will display an error and stop any charge from the panel from moving forward. You do not need to do anything once you disconnect your batteries.
