You get what you pay for...
I bought the Euro-Pro convection toaster oven because it was available and a lot less expensive than the competitors. I have never owned a convection oven before, and I find this one to be just a little faster for overall cooking than prior toaster-ovens. I like it for its ease of use, multiple cooking surfaces and ease of cleaning. The 15 minute limit for timed cooking is too low for many items but I work around that. Toast takes too long, but I have a regular toaster. I was hoping the "convection" part of the oven would mean faster cooking times, but I see little difference between this oven and my conventional gas stove. Well, you get what you pay for, and what I got met my expectations.

First rate large capacity
Besides for a horrible smell like burning plastic the first couple of times we used it (the manual says thats normal) it does a great job and is large enough to handle foil pans for lasagna. Use it almost every day and it works great. Have not tried the pizza stone and probably never will. Great oven not too expensive. Recommended.

It's a step up for some people and a step down for others. 3.5 Stars.
I bought one of these several years ago and liked it. It would be good for a college dorm room, but remember it gets kind of hot with the convection going. Safety is a concern as with all convection ovens. It's good if you don't have an oven and don't want to buy food in the cafeteria all the time. I did make some nice one person dinners with lemon juice and spices on a thin chicken breast. Cook, then put it on a bed of hot rice. Add a salad and there's your meal. It can make some foods crispy. It will melt cheese on nachos, etc. The only thing I did not like was the wire racks. They were not very heavy. However, that is likely a safety feature to prevent people from overdoing the capacity. Mine had a round back for pizzas and that was a pretty nice feature. Overall, don't expect too much of it. But it's not bad either. Depends on what you want to use it for.

Euro-pro Model EP278 Convection Toaster Oven blues
I purchased this Euro-pro convection toaster oven July 2002 hoping it would offer superior cooking quality. Unfortunately I was badly disappointed. In addition there is no customer service - website down (six months), telephone always busy.My problems with this unit now include noisy, defective fan, oven door does not close properly leaking warm air and no customer service. In addition to this the product does a very poor job of cooking food as the heat is not distributed evenly (possibly due to defective fan) and the cooking time is not appreciably less than a regular oven.My experience with Euro-pro is "great specs on paper, poor performance of products". I am very disappointed with Euro-pro as a company and this product in particular. I can not afford the shipping to send the product back to them in New York state. If I could I would tell them to keep it....Thank you!Jim Pepoon ([email protected])

Nice idea poor execution
We got one of these last Sunday (Oct. 10, 04). Returned it on the 12th.Here is what we experienced. Following directions we unpacked and turned the unit on high to "burn it off". This resulted in copious quantities of smoke and unpleasant smells (like a machine shop). Thank heavens our range has a large exterior vented hood. We noticed too that the fan became increasingly noisy to the point of being annoying. Additionally the door began to bind and not close properly. When cooled the door was better but not right. This became progressively worse. It did make decent toast but between the noise and the door I was concerned. We didn't bother to try much else in it other than some toaster strudel (which again cooked very well but noisily).I did like the fact that it's heavy and the non skid feet are nice. Also the extra accessories (cookie sheets, pizza stone, etc.) were nice touches. I would have preferred no accessories and more quality in exchange.A glaring safety fault was also discovered. When you open the door it does NOT shut off. I find this oversight unforgivable.Overall it's a nicely sized and outfitted product that falls WAY short of expectation. But than it's cheap and made in China so I guess I should not have expected different.A point of interest. Why is it SO hard to find a reasonable selection of reasonable quality products of this type anymore?! This site lists like 100 or so products of this type but just try and find any kind of reasonable selection at ANY store.End of rant.

Very Pleasing Performance
Purchased my Euro-Pro EP278 P Convection Toaster Oven From Best Buy in 2003. I have used the pizza stone, cookie sheets and all other accessories. Have baked pies, cakes, cookies, corn bread and numberous other items. Wonderful for making grilled sandwiches, heating things that you do not want to microwave. They come out crunchy and taste so wonderful. Have not had any problems with its functions for 10 years. Just lately the temperature knob broke off and I can not change temperatures but still using oven. Cannot locate a replacement knob.So yes the service for the product is lousy. Shark has evidently taken over Euro Pro. They have the part, but say it cannot be shipped from the Canadian Warehouse into the US.Cannot get parts any more for the Euro Pro Food Processor either. So guess Euro Pro is just gone as a supplier of kitchen products.I am sorry to hear this. I have used the Food Processor for about 11 years and ordered parts before. But not able to find any more.

Comes with no tray!
Looking for an inexpensive replacement for my old toaster oven as I mainly only use it to heat up snacks for my kids. This seemed to fit the bill. The box claims a tray comes with it - it's the crumb catcher. Have been scouring stores and garage sales for something that will fit in there ever since. I agree with the toast analysis of other reviewers - had to dig out the ole toaster again. Was hoping to save space and time. This product not worth the agrivation.
