HARIOMCD-2 Hand Grinding Coffee Mill, Dome

Beautiful, well built, grinds very evenly. Finish on wood is soft and already getting marked up in light use. Wouldn’t prevent me from buying it but I may refinish it at some point.

Elegent design. Better than glass grinder--unbreakable, better than stainless steel grinder-- no metal taste.

This is cumbersome to fill and grind; the chamber only holds about 2Tbsp of beans, the window often slides open while grinding, and it's very hard to crank when using lighter roast beans that are are less brittle. I much prefer the "Hario Burr Canister Ceramic Hand Coffee Grinder" that I used to have.

I'll begin with the most serious problem. After six weeks of daily use, the burrs broke (see photos).But before this, I had already decided to abandon this grinder on account of its design flaws. The shaft is too wide to grip tightly, and so the resistance from the beans means it can be very hard to grind without pressing the grinder close to your torso to keep it from slipping. If you try to place the grinder on a flat surface to grind, it tips over if the beans provide a lot of resistance, because the base is not wide enough. Pressing down hard on the grinder doesn't solve the problem.Moreover, the adjustment nut comes loose as you grind, meaning that you constantly have to stop and tighten it; if you don't, it will loosen enough that the adjustment tab can jump notches, and you will get an uneven grind.Lastly, as a number of others have mentioned, the sliding door opens while you grind and the beans spill out, if you are holding the grinder at an angle (which you absolutely must do on account of the first problem).On the whole a frustrating and disappointing product from an otherwise good company.

Good looking coffee grinder which was bought as a gift and it still works well.

This is my 4th time I have purchased this product. I had 2 overseas, one for home and one for office, but I gave them away when I left. I loved them so much, I bought a third when I came home. But I took that overseas and left it for when I return. So, I bought this one for while I'm back at home. It won't open. It's like someone glued the grinder to the bottom. I live in a very arid environment, I thought after a few days, maybe the wood would dry and then I could unscrew it. Didn't happen. I even left it outside during a Red Flag warning, still won't budge, not anything. This makes me sad, because I love this model of grinder, the hopper is suitable size, and I've never had a problem with the hopper door. I'm very sad because I'd never been disappointed with Hario before.

It takes a LOT to get me to write a negative product review. I think this may be my first ever. This grinder looks cool, but holy cow, it's horrible to use unless you need a full body high intensity workout every morning to get your coffee made. I'm a 6' guy who regularly works out and it takes all I get muster, while breaking a sweat, to get coffee ground with this product. Enough said.

Veio com todos os cuidados. O produto é muito bom.Após menos de 1 ano de uso a roda de moagem que é cerâmica estragou. Gostaria de saber se a loja tem peça para repor.

Me gustó mucho su acabado, diseño y funcionalidad, no me gustó la atención a cliente del proveedor, no te proporcionan guía de seguimiento y aunque llegó antes de tiempo, tuve suerte en estar en casa, de otra forma no lo hubiera podido recibir, en pocas palabras te hacen adivinar cuando va a llegar, Amazon no debería permitir que los vendedores no proporcionen guía de rastreo del producto, por lo demás, realmente estas pagando por la calidad del producto.

Bois de qualité. La manivelle est solide et le mécanisme pour moudre aussiC est bien sur un peu d'organisation, il faut reprendre l habitude de faire un effort de 5 min pour obtenir son café en poudre... sans appuyer sur un bouton. L odeur du café fraîchement moulu mécaniquement...incroyable ♡quel plaisir de retrouver le goût de faire soi même...

Good to hold and nice wood .Don’t close head very tightly.

First of all - it’s super cute smooth wooden compact design! Just what I was looking for in a coffe mill.Initially I had hard time unscrewing the wooden top but eventually... it’s fine.The mill is very easily adjustable from more robust to fine grind.I’m yet to check the amounts and measurements but I’m very pleased.
