The blue mineral cartridge lasts 4 months. Each silver SmartChlor Cartridge lasts 3 to 4 weeks depending on the size of your hot tub and how often it is used. Replace the SmartChlor Cartridge when FROG @ease flips over.

What impacts the life of the SmartChlor Cartridge?

Water balance is very important – especially avoid pH over 7.8 as it will degrade the effectiveness of SmartChlor. Over circulation such as being pulled into the filter well will also deplete the cartridge (using a tether is recommended).

Favorite hot tub accessory

My favorite way to keep to our spa clean. There is hardly any chlorine smell, it must be the silver on the blue side. When the ball flips over, about a month, it is time to replace. I have been using this system for 10 years and highly recommend! This set lasts 4 months for us.

Great for spa tub

Changed to this easier to use system from an older Frog floating pod system. Love the flip over when out of chlorine feature. So easy. I keep mine on 2 setting and chlorine lasts about a month.

I would give it five stars because it works great, but the price is a bit steep compared to what you could do with other chemicals. I will continue to use it because if it’s ease-of-use, and it keeps my hot tub always ready.
