Work of art!
Beautifully crafted and curated book of piano pieces for students grades 3-5. One of my favorite aspects of this book is having the option to listen to all of the compositions on Spotify! Bravo!

Compositions for enjoyment…….and technique
This is a beautifully presented book, with 8 wonderful pieces carefully crafted and aimed at all players albeit with a keen eye on those working through from grade 3 to 5. Each piece benefits from a brief playing guide by either Janette or James. What a fantastic composing combination. I have been fortunate to see Janette and James play live and hear their work on BBC sounds and Jazz FM. In summary, a wonderfully appointed set of compositions, sympathetically prepared by two fine and talented musicians that will challenge and inspire.

Great book for the developing musician
A different but excellent addition to the collection of piano music from films.Really good that it allows the pieces to be rated in relation to Royal College grades. As such it is not just simple music from well known cinema favourites but 8 pieces which will start to stretch the developing pianist. (Complex time and key signatures). Compares to Grades 3-5.Modern in that it uses modern day descriptions of how to play pieces e.g. "Reflective" rather than just original latin although traditional terms are used within the piece. The best bit: The Composer's tips at the head of each piece which give quite detailed description of what the playing pianist should aim to achieve. For the next book: It would be good to give a little more information about the origin of the piece (i.e. which film it came from)Highly recommended

Highly Recommend!
I don’t often write reviews unless something impresses me enough to do so! I must say this book has some really nice pieces in. I love the composer tips at the start of each piece which gives an insight of things to watch out for, very helpful. Favourite piece for me is Lyra’s Lament which has a gorgeous melody line. Look forward to getting to the pieces towards the back which look a little challenging for me!
