I just received my new carrier (size Large) for my KITTY. He is quite long (22-in from his nose to his butt), and weighs 12 lbs. My previous cats have not done well with traditional carriers when going to the vet. They are so mad by the time we get there that they are inconsolable and just pissed off as can be! But I think this will work very well. He was so calm as I got him into it without the help of my husband, no less. I like the security strap for "just in case" ( hooked onto his collar), and he liked having his head out. But if, at the vets, he wants to hide in his carrier, there is still room for him to pull his head in. He actually seemed to enjoy this!! I'll comment later, after we go to the vet, and give my report.Hello again. We have had a couple of visits to the vet since my first review. My kitty really likes this - it comforts him, when at the vet, to be enclosed in this bag, yet on me, as opposed to in the carrier. he burrowed inside, half the time, but peeked around the remainder of the time. This was a great purchase!

I got this for my cat who loathes being in the car AND a carrier. My husband and I were driving cross country and this was the PERFECT solution. It was great for carrying him in and out of hotels, and when we wanted to sight see. I even put him in it once because he was restless and heavily protesting being in the car, and he instantly fell asleep. My cat weighs 8lbs and I purchased the large.

Guinea pig loveddddd it!!! She was able to run errands with me and be discrete so I could take here anywhere I needed to go. Love the little hole so I can check on her while giving her lettuce between errands!

Very good quality! My dog loves it. She’s 2lbs and fits comfortably. Stitching is good and it’s very comfortable to wear.

My sons trim little 'jumper' cat does not like to be confined, so does not like it, but my cuddle-bug rescue cat Abby just purrs or sleeps the whole time when we go for walks together around the block. It is also a good conversation starter with all the dog walkers and residents in my neighborhood.When I first got it, I left it outside overnight to get the typical 'plasticy' smell (from manufacture & shipping) off it. The cats helped further: If I throw it on the couch, both of them like to take turns sleeping on it. So the fabric and smell seems to be OK with them, and that is what matters. The (Nylon?) fabric & mesh top seems sturdy enough and stays clean easily, but you may want to nip off any hooks on the cats nails to prevent damaging it. The shoulder strap is wide and comfy, and somewhat adjustable, but is a little long for short people who want to carry the cat tucked in at waist level, like they do a large handbag. My 5'8" son was fine with it. I found it swung a bit more than I liked being down at my hip bone height, but AbbyCat did not seem to care.The bag has a hook for the collar, but a standard cat collar is a breakaway, plus most cats can easily slip ANY collar, so a chest harness should be used on the cat for safety.The bag's zipper is somewhat lightweight and the slider on the head opening's string that keeps the cat in both slide easily, which is good and bad, so care should be taken when putting a struggling and determined cat in so that it doesn't get out; there is a little velcro tab to anchor them, but hook the cat in by the harness, too.

I must say I am thoroughly pleased with this item. I've had carriers in the past for my 11 pound Chihuahua and they have been both uncomfortable for the dog and for me. This carrier is perfect. My dog fits into it easily, there is plenty of room for him (he basically reclines with his head out the opening), it's very comfortable for me to wear- the padding is thick and it rides along my side hip or more in front, depending how I position it. Most importantly- my dog loves it and is lulled into a relaxing state when I walk in my neighborhood. The stitching looks strong and reinforced and the only reason I did not give it a 5 is that I've had other carriers that have torn in short time (where it's sewn to the straps), so I want to see how this endures with my 11 lb. dog before I give it a 5. I bought it so I could take him along on walks with another dog on leash and I haven't tried this yet. My only concern would be crouching down to pick up dog poo with the sling on. My Chihuahua is on the heavier side so this might be a challenge. This is a really great product though and I am thoroughly delighted. I'd highly recommend it. Do measure your dog and look at the specs to see what size to order.

The carrier is well made of quality materials. The "small" carrier is too small for a 10 lb. mini-dachshund; he is too long. I'll order a larger size, but would say that this item "runs small."

This is great in theory, but not happy with the product. Tried it out with my 4lb pup and it seemed decent until I realized even at the smallest setting the sling was still very loose on my body (average build, wear M and L tops). Second time I tried to put my dog in it, the zipper broke. Returning and spending the money for a better quality product.
