Having been in technical support for many years, I knew Kingston was a exceptional brand and my thoughts have been confirmed. Due to space issues on my C drive, this upgrade was greatly needed. Not having any free power ports on my system board, I used the CD drive and power cables to access the new drive. The cloning process was straight forward and pretty quick. There was one slight issue with partitioning of the C drive following the cloning to take advantage of all the new space but a Kingston tech support agent walked me through the resolution and it worked perfect. Kudos to an awesome product and awesome tech support staff!

El mejor SSD SATA actualmente ya que descontinuaron el Crucial MX500

I've been using this chip in my Lenovo Idea Pad Yoga for a few months now with no issues. It effectively quadrupled my computers memory and gave it new life. For anyone not aware, it's important to note that this is not a Plug and Play device. The installation requires that you use an appropriate app to transfer Windows (or other operating system) along with all the data from your old memory chip. There are YouTube videos showing you how to do this quite easily for those not familiar with the procedure. With this memory boost you also have the capability to upgrade to a more current operating system if that is your goal. The Kingston KC600 has performed flawlessly in my computer since I installed it and I use my old chip for additional storage.

As a user, my primary interest lies not in raw speed benchmarks, but in durability and reliability. For this reason, and because I dislike handling exposed circuitry, I prefer the traditional 2.5-inch SATA SSD format. This particular Kingston drive immediately stands out due to its metal casing, which is a significant plus for heat dissipation. This is a feature I appreciate, as it directly supports long-term component health. However, it's worth noting that the case is a stamped steel construction—not the solid aluminum cast you might find on competing drives like those from Samsung. Key Strengths: Price, DRAM, and NAND Type One of the Kingston's main selling points is that it is one of the few available SATA drives that includes an onboard DRAM cache at a rational price point. Crucially, it utilizes TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND flash. The combination of DRAM and TLC is vital for consistent performance and improving the drive's longevity, making it a critical feature for users prioritizing reliability (like myself). Value and Conclusion In terms of value, this drive hits a sweet spot: it delivers necessary features like DRAM, TLC, and a metal enclosure without demanding a premium price. If this Kingston drive were priced identically to a Samsung equivalent, I would likely choose the latter, due to Samsung's generally superior construction (the cast aluminum body). However, given its accessible pricing, the Kingston offers an excellent, practical compromise for users who value reliability and a protected form factor above maximum speed.
