Motorcraft YH-1697 Blower Motor Resistor

Blower only blew on positions 3 and 4. Not on positions 1 and 2. For years.It would have been a 10 minute install, but when I went to install it, I discovered that the wire connector socket was also fried. So I had to order the wire connector socket.Judging from my experience, and from what I read, it is EXTREMELY likely that if you need to replace this, you will also need the wire socket connector.You might want to pull your wire connector off yours and have a look before you order only this part. I bet it's fried too.

I would recommend also purchasing the harness, unfortunately Ford didn't think those parts needed a weather seal. Inside everything was rusted out, it was impossible to remove just the resistor, I had to order the harness, splice the wires and did the trick.

The blower motor on my 2000 Excursion only ran on the high position, my research led me to but this part. It also led me to only buy the Motorcraft part due to others poor experience with the knock-off versions. Install took 10 minutes, I also replaced the electric harness with this. All fan speeds now work as they are supposed to.

2011 Ford E250 4.6L lost medium high blower speed. With out testing (I went right for the blower switch first, because that has failed on me in the past. Welp that wasnt it, this resistor & a new plug later, blower wheel has all four speeds

Somewhat easy to install and works perfectly so far in my 2000 F250. Word to the wise, buy the new plug end for the wire bundle as it is likely to have melted a bit or be brittle enough to break as you disassemble. YouTube has much info on this. Good product, good price.

Works great, but order the wire connector when you replace this, it rusts up the pins holes in the connector, the new one want make contact with old wiring harness.

Direct replacement for the stock part. A little tough to get too on my Ford Excursion due to the location of the air conditioning system. But it works perfectly.

Product came quickly, all the parts I required were there to do the job. Having the new harness was a saviour. Note for those doing this, there’s no replacement screws to fasten the resistor to the vehicle; re-use the ones you removed.

Product was as described and fit right in- 2011 E150 van.
