WeMoWiFi Smart Plug (Smart Outlet for Smart Home, Control Lights and Devices Remotely, Controlled only with Apple HomeKit)

Tried getting this setup on Homekit, but it simply refused after multiple attempts. I kept receiving errors on my iPhone saying "that my phone wasn't connected to WiFi" even though it was. Eventually, I gave up.I'm returning this product. Better luck to others.

Bought two of these devices in November 2021 to be able to control the lights on the Christmas tree. Set up a timer for them to turn on at dusk and off and dawn. Works great!Tried to use the other on the lights outside, but could never get it to show up on the Home app. Tried to see if i could use the Wemo app, but could not get it to work. Went to the Belkin site only to find out that this product (Model: WSP080) is made specifically for the Home app, which will not update firmware or help with troubleshooting. I have bought a dud! Other reviewers have experienced the same problems. Better to avoid this product.

I have 6 of these.3 basically don't work properly. As anyone will know who bought them, they work ONLY via the Apple Home app, not the Belkin WEMO app - which is the whole point of them being HomeKit integrated.On checking the firmware I find the 3 unreliable ones have an older version. Which somehow isn't updating automatically.Belkin 'support' tell me to use the Wemo app to update the firmware - which you CANNOT as this version works ONLY with the Apple Home app.So they admit that mistake and tell me to move them close to the router (one is 2m away) and "make sure it's not being used" so the firmware can update.Needless to say this pointless advice does not work.It would seem to be a fundamentally flawed and unreliable product without support.

Like I’m sure many others, it works for a while then it will become unreliable then you’ll try to remove and reconnect.Then you’ll know you chose death, because it will never reconnect.

Have numerous older WeMo plugs that I have been controlling using the WeMo app (and more recently Google Home) quite happily for several years. Bought some of these newer ones and, while they show up in the WeMo App (and can be controlled fine on that for manually switching things on and off), the Rules don't work properly! So if you set up a rule for the plug to come on at sunset, it actually comes on at a different time! I went back and forth with WeMo advanced support on this for about 10 days trying umpteen things to fix it (and my end and theirs) until they eventually advised that this plug only works with Apple Homekit - and not their own App (!!) To be fair it does say this in the description (albeit I don't think it did when I bought mine a few months back...) but don't plan on buying this if you want to use it with anything other than Apple Homekit.

I bought this originally about 8 months ago. It stopped working so Amazon being The best place to shop sent me a replacement. Unfortunately as of yesterday, that has also stopped working.I wouldn’t buy this if I were you.

These are easy to setup when they work! Followed the same procedure on 4 units - 2 worked and when they are running they seem to be updating frequently so more time than not can’t access them. Absolute junk!
