MilwaukeeElectric Tools 2503-22 M12 Fuel 1/2" Drill Driver Kit

I bought this Milwaukee cordless drill as a replacement for one of another brand that is now 15 years old, one that I loved and trusted. The replacement batteries for the old unit would have cost almost as much as this set, so I ordered this drill set on with some hesitation after seeing a top review in a consumer magazine. This one is lightweight, comfortable, powerful, and has a bright, clear LED light to illuminate the work. It's a surprising improvement over my old drill. It would make a great gift, highly recommended.

It takes time to rotate the selector from drill mode to the different screw settings. The lowest screw setting isn’t low enough for many screw applications. Remember that this is a powerful 1/2” chuck drill and is meant for applications where a little more power is necessary.

I've had Craftsman drill/drivers in the past; the last few were a let down so I decided to try a different brand. I've seen YouTubers throwing a lot at this brand, and knew a couple people that recommended it to me. This tool has failed at nothing I've thrown at it. The fact that the batteries last a long time is an absolute plus for me, and it comes with two batteries means I'm never without a working drill.

1. Just to release the battery I normally have to pin the drill down with my feet, and still fight getting the battery to release. (I am not a small or weak man).2. The forward/reverse switch is terrible. Instead of being a simple slide one way switch or the other, if it is even bumped a millimeter out of place while working in a tight area the drill will not go forward or reverse. I am constantly having to re-click the switch firmly into the proper position.3. It also bumps and switches easily from 2 to 1 speed when in tight areas. This switch should be recessed, however it sticks out where it can rub on a wall corner and always switches down to the lower (1) speed).4. I don't feel like the 16 adjustable settings for drill slip to no-slip are consistent and/or linear.Overall, would try a different manufacturer's drill if starting over and looking for a drill like this.

It’s red and I can find it. Comfortable grip, easy to change bits and generally impressive for homeowner use.
