Protec Trumpet Mute Bag with Modular Divider, Model M400

This was a gift for my grandson to be used with a trumpet mute I had purchased.

Works great with 3 mutes. Quality is betty than average and the clip is very useful

There is NOTHING I did not like about this mute bag. The high quality vs relatively low price is amazing. The nylon is VERY thick, durable and not stiff. It's very light weight. I have a straight and a plunger mute in the bag and there is considerable room to spare, enough to easily hold two large mutes by themselves. For a small bag, the pocket in front is a large size. The inside of the bag has very soft and durable material that won't scratch the mutes. The thick padded adjustable divider inside has enough Velcro on it to easily hold it in place. The two double sided zippers are good quality, slide easily and sewn on well. The heavy duty nylon handle on top is sewn on well and is a nice addition. The heavy duty adjustable shoulder strap is very durable and is sewn together well. The nylon loops that are sewn to the bag to hold the plastic loops for the strap are also sewn on well. The whole bag is sewn together very well. The clips for the strap are strong quality. I agree with one reviewer that wrote that you can't put in many mutes in this bag like, other reviewers have stated. Hence, in the description of this bag states it is a two mute bag for a good reason, because it is for only two mutes plus the front pocket. If there were six stars I would have given it that. It's to bad that every thing is not made as well as this bag is.

Bought this for my son who is in middle school band. He doesn't use it because it's so large but he still kept the bag because it is very sturdy and he can store other stuff in it for traveling. He uses it like a small carry-on.

This mute bag is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a great size for carrying to and from gigs and is very lightweight. The material is thick and durable, which protects my mutes very well. I can typically fit 4 mutes in here, which is more than I expected to! It also has a zip pocket in the front which is great for storing other non-mute items. I’m very happy with this purchase and think I will be for a long time! I highly recommend this product to anyone who might be on the fence about purchasing.

Managed to fit harmon, straight mute, cup mute (separate from straight), practice mute, plunger, trumpet stand, and Flugelhorn horn stand all together. Very space efficient

This has been a great "assistant" for keeping my trumpet mutes safe and together.I love being able to sling it over my shoulder before I head out the door.The durability and space allow for carrying several mutes at once (which are not very heavy anyhow).I always look for a ProTec item first when searching for a case or carrier for my instruments.

This is an excellent product and it comes exactly as described. Seems to be of very high quality so only time will tell. The BIG caveat is that this thing is WAY bigger than I was expecting, it is about the same size as an average shoe box. For my purposes it's actually a bit too big (my playing only really requires a straight mute with an occasional plunger mute). I had seen other reviews that stated they could fit multiple mutes in this bag but I mistakenly presumed they were just cramming them in there. This will easliy hold my straight mute, plunger mute, and a water bottle with room to spare. I may find myself carrying more weight around than I actually need for a gig. Again, time will tell on the durability. (hence the 4 star rating)

I've been using this for a while now to hold my Cornet mutes and it's serving it's purpose well, I have 3 mutes in it (straight, cup & harmon) plus my small Carol books. It arrives supplied with a padded divider (utilising Velcro) and I can add extra padding internally to separate the mutes if I thought it needed any, what's supplied is sufficient. The carry handle is adequate and I find the clip most useful. I can clip it on and off the buckles of my gig bag quickly and I've discovered I can clip it onto one of the bolts on my stand for concerts (saved me buying a mute holder for my stand). I've not had to worry about waterproof qualities yet, but it's been able to withstand the showers it's encountered.

I am impressed with how much I can get into this. It fits all the mutes I have and the front pocket fits all the extras I usually have in my gigbag that I can never find.

This is a top quality bag with plenty of protection for my mutes. The shoulder strap is a real bonus and leaves hands free. It can easily hang on the stand for convenience as a mute holder while you are playing.

Plenty of space - designed for two mutes but can hold 4 at a push. Handy front pocket for pencil, valve oil etc.
